Pe‘e Road Closed Feb. 23 through March 16 for Po‘ipū Roundabout
Pe‘e Road will be fully closed Feb. 23–March 16, 2026, for a new roundabout at Po‘ipū Road/Ala Kinoiki; detour via Ho‘owili and Ho‘one roads, contact Goodfellow Bros. at 808-879-5205.

The Kaua‘i County Department of Public Works and their contractor, Goodfellow Bros. LLC, are announcing the closure of Pe‘e Road at the intersection of Po‘ipū Road from February 23 to March 16, weather permitting, to accommodate construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Po‘ipū Road, Ala Kinoiki, and Pe‘e Road. The county posted the notice with a Poʻipū location tag and the same timeline on its Facebook page.
During the closure, a detour will be in place via Ho‘owili Road and Ho‘one Road to provide access to Pe‘e Road, as well as to properties and streets along Pe‘e Road, the county message says. The public notice specifies that the detour routing is intended to maintain access for homes and businesses on Pe‘e Road while crews work at the Po‘ipū Road intersection.
Traffic control measures listed in the county post include on-site flaggers during work hours and a prohibition on parking inside the work zones. The notice states, "During this time, no parking will be allowed in the work zones. During work hours, Flaggers will be positioned at the work zone to direct traffic." That language appears in both the county Facebook post and a local news alert that republishes the county guidance.
Motorists were urged to plan ahead: "Please make the appropriate arrangements to accommodate the necessary road closure, use alternate routes, and allow extra time to get to destinations," the county wrote. For questions or additional information the notice directs callers to Goodfellow Bros. LLC at 808-879-5205, the contractor listed on the announcement.

The county Facebook post showing the closure drew modest community reaction: the capture of the post shows 4 reactions, 2 comments and 4 shares. Two commenters recorded in the capture were Karen Downie, who wrote "Thanks for this info," and Noni Carey Sweet, who wrote "Avoid if possible a complete mess down there on pee and poipu rd," reflecting local concern about congestion in the Po‘ipū/Pe‘e area during work.
The public notices do not supply several operational details residents commonly ask about: neither the county post nor the republished alerts include daily start and stop times for work hours, a detour map or diagram, or specifics on parking enforcement and access for emergency vehicles. The announcements repeatedly use the qualifier "weather permitting" for the Feb. 23–March 16 window, but provide no contingency schedule beyond that phrase.
If you need more detail about timing, signage or access for a specific address on Pe‘e Road, contact Goodfellow Bros. LLC at 808-879-5205 as listed in the county notice.
