Pleasant Garden Community Recycling Event, medication take-back; A Simple Gesture runs food-drive
Guilford County and Pleasant Garden will host a free recycling event Saturday, March 14, from 8 a.m. to noon at 5024 Alliance Church Road, with shredding, a Sheriff’s Office medication take-back, and a food-drive drop-off run by A Simple Gesture.

Guilford County and the Town of Pleasant Garden will host the Pleasant Garden Community Recycling Event Saturday, March 14, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Pleasant Garden Community Center, 5024 Alliance Church Road, county officials say. The county’s event page lists shredding, a medication take-back and a food drive among the services, and both sources note the event is free and open to all Guilford County residents.
A Simple Gesture is operating the food-drive drop-off collection at the Pleasant Garden location, according to a local notice provided to this reporter. Qué Pasa, the Spanish-language community outlet that carried the county notice, framed the event’s goals in community terms, saying the day will “promover el reciclaje responsable, la seguridad comunitaria y el apoyo a familias que necesitan alimentos.”
The county page lists medication take-back among offered services but does not name the Sheriff’s Office in the posted excerpt.
Guilford County’s official page points residents to an alternate option for tires, electronics and appliances: the county’s Scrap Tire and White Goods Collection Facility at 2138 Bishop Road in Greensboro, open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and reachable at (336) 641-9431.

The county also cautions that no business waste is accepted at community recycling events, specifically noting business shredding and tires from tire-hauling businesses. Household Hazardous Waste should be taken instead to 2750 Patterson Street in Greensboro. Guilford County asks attendees to arrive at least 30 minutes before closing to allow time to unload materials.
This Pleasant Garden date is one of four community recycling events Guilford County runs each year. For more details, the county directs residents to its recycling web page; the Qué Pasa posting credits Guilford County Government for the notice. The event brings municipal services, a Sheriff’s Office medication station and a community-run food-drive collection together at one neighborhood site, with logistics and alternative disposal options spelled out by county staff.
