Pomerene Hospital Schedules Mobile Health Screenings at Local Holmes County Sites
Pomerene Hospital's new Mobile Unit will stop monthly at Keim Home Center (OH-557); call 1-800-929-6626 to check BCCP eligibility for free mammograms and pap smears.

Pomerene Hospital has rolled out a new Mobile Health Services unit to bring screenings and basic health services to community locations across Holmes County and neighboring communities, the hospital said. The outreach includes recurring monthly stops, for example, Keim Home Center (OH-557), and hospital materials direct women to the Breast & Cervical Cancer Program hotline at 1-800-929-6626 to check eligibility for free mammograms and pap smears.
"In addition to offering in-office appointments, we are excited to announce that our new Mobile Unit is now available at various locations throughout Holmes County, providing convenient screening services closer to home," Pomerene Hospital said in its program announcement, urging residents to consult the hospital site for full dates and locations. The hospital's public materials also state that Holmes County has lower screening rates compared to statewide averages, framing the Mobile Unit as part of an effort to improve early detection locally.
Pomerene named its Women’s Health Nurse Practitioners as part of the program team: Angela O’Shea and Mary Beth Marburger. "Pomerene’s Women's Health Nurse Practitioners, Angela O’Shea and Mary Beth Marburger, are committed to increasing access to these life-saving screenings," the hospital said, identifying the clinicians who will staff women’s health outreach and follow-up.
Social outreach by Pomerene confirmed seasonal stops and a local contact. On Instagram the hospital posted, "Stop by for general health screenings & services all month long in July. Find a stop near you on our schedule! Questions? Call us at 330-473-6607," signaling that the Mobile Unit ran or promoted July stops and offering a local number for questions separate from the statewide BCCP hotline.

A schedule fragment provided in reporting lists recurring monthly stops and names Keim Home Center (OH-557) as an example, but that fragment ends mid-sentence and does not supply the full roster of sites or dates. For complete Mobile Unit locations and dates Pomerene directs residents to visit its website: "Visit our website at pomerenehospital.org for details on Mobile Unit locations and dates."
Pomerene is also emphasizing enrollment in the Breast & Cervical Cancer Program. The hospital said, "Pomerene Hospital is urging local women to find out if they qualify for the Breast & Cervical Cancer Program (BCCP), which provides free mammograms and pap smears to eligible patients," and added that "By calling the BCCP hotline at 1-800-929-6626, women can easily enroll in the program and schedule their screenings at our office." Sources provided do not specify whether BCCP mammograms or pap smears are performed on the Mobile Unit itself; callers should use 1-800-929-6626 for BCCP eligibility and may use 330-473-6607 for local questions about the Mobile Unit schedule.
