Randy Roccia, 67, dies; visitation March 5, funeral March 6
Randy Roccia, 67, a retired Tell City music teacher and longtime Salvation Army kettle coordinator, died March 2; visitation is March 5 at Zoercher‑Gillick, funeral March 6 at First Baptist.

Randy Roccia, 67, of Tell City died March 2, 2026. Visitation will be Thursday, March 5, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Zoercher‑Gillick Funeral Home, 920 10th St, Tell City, and a funeral service will be held Friday, March 6, at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 802 13th St, Tell City.
Randy was born August 19, 1958, in Clinton, Indiana, to the late Charles F. and Yolanda Lucille (Ruatto) Roccia, the funeral-home obituary states. He graduated Chesterton High School with the class of 1976 and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Indiana State University. Zoercher‑Gillick Funeral Home notes, "On August 15, 1981, Randy married the love of his life, Rachel Hawkins."
A career educator, Roccia "retired from the Tell City-Troy Township School Corporation, where he dedicated many years as a Music Teacher," the funeral-home posting says. He was a longtime member and Director of the church choir at Tell City First United Methodist Church and belonged to the Barbershop Harmony Society, singing with the Louisville Thoroughbred Barbershop Chorus and the New Horizon Barbershop Chorus.
Roccia's volunteer work threaded through Perry County civic life. Zoercher‑Gillick described him as "a dedicated Eagle Scout" who "faithfully served as the Assistant Scout Master of Troop #192." The obituary also highlights his role as "the Kettle Coordinator for the Salvation Army for Perry County for many years." He was an avid New York Yankees fan and enjoyed golfing in his spare time.
Survivors include his wife Rachel Roccia; son Joseph Roccia and daughter-in-law Sheena of Evansville; daughter Sarah McBride and son-in-law Jeff of Peru, Indiana; and grandchildren Nickolas McNair, Derek Roccia, Isabel Roccia, Abigail Roccia, Evelyn McBride, and Rosalie McBride. Siblings listed in the obituary are Tina Hudson and Lia Schlinger, both of Valparaiso, George Roccia and his wife Debbie of Columbus, and sister-in-law Sheila Roccia of Nashville, Indiana, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Rickey Roccia.
