Redditch Model Railway Club Readies 53rd Exhibition at Trinity High School
Oakenshaw, Redditch MRC’s award-winning layout that took more than five years to build, is on show as the 53rd exhibition opens at Trinity High School today.

The Redditch Model Railway Club opens its 53rd annual exhibition at Trinity High School today, with doors scheduled to open at 10am and running through the weekend. The show takes place on Saturday 7 March and Sunday 8 March 2026, with opening hours of 10am to 5pm on Saturday and 10am to 4.30pm on Sunday.
More than 30 stands will be on display, with layouts in gauges from N to 0, organisers say. Headline layouts named in advance include the club’s award-winning Oakenshaw, Temple Bridge and Bristol Avon Bridge, alongside locally themed station models for Studley, Astwood Bank and Henley-in-Arden. Trade stands and live modelling demonstrations are also listed on promotional material for the event.
Oakenshaw is a centrepiece for the weekend, described by the club and local press as an award-winning exhibition layout that took more than five years to build and "has been a hit with visitors wherever it has been displayed." Guy Craddock, exhibition manager, highlighted the show’s longevity and his personal involvement: "This will be the 53rd Redditch Model Railway Exhibition which has come a long way since the first in 1967 and every year the event is proving to be more and more popular with visitors who travel from all over the country to the event." He added, "This is my 41st show I have organized for the Club and with the change of date to March after Covid should help make the event another winner with our visitors."

The venue is Trinity High School, Grove Street, Redditch Town Centre, B98 8HB, with access listed as "access 1 on the town centre ring road." The Redditch Advertiser notes the site is about a 15-minute drive from Junction 2 of the M42 and roughly a 15-minute walk from Redditch rail and bus stations. RMWeb listings also confirm doors open at 10am each day.
The club traces its origins to June 1967, currently has 25 members and meets twice weekly at its clubrooms in Redditch. Club event listings show Oakenshaw, Arrowmouth and other layouts will travel to external shows this year, with dates including Model World LIVE at the NEC on 25–26 April and the Severn Valley Railway Model Event on 2–3 May. The club’s calendar also flags a 60th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee Redditch Model Railway Exhibition scheduled for 6–7 March 2027.
The club website hosts a gallery of pictures labelled picture 1 through picture 10 and the event page is promoted on club material with the text "Link to Exhibition Page." Exhibitors are reported to travel from across the country, with visitors and layouts coming from Cornwall, Yorkshire and Liverpool for this weekend’s show.
