Rockford Forward Connor Mylymok Suspended One Game After Instigating Misconduct vs Hershey
Rockford forward Connor Mylymok has been suspended one game by the AHL and will miss Rockford’s Feb. 28 home game vs. Hershey at the BMO Center after an instigating misconduct in the Feb. 27 game.

Rockford IceHogs forward Connor Mylymok has been suspended for one game by the American Hockey League’s Player Safety Committee and will miss Rockford’s Feb. 28 matchup against the Hershey Bears at the BMO Center, the league announced following actions in the IceHogs’ Feb. 27 game vs. Hershey. The IceHogs’ site lists a 7:00 p.m. start and ticketing information for the game at icehogs.com, and team and league releases confirmed the suspension on Feb. 28.
“The American Hockey League’s Player Safety Committee today announced that Rockford IceHogs forward Connor Mylymok has been suspended for one (1) game as a consequence of his actions in a game vs. Hershey on Feb. 27,” the league release reads.
The disciplinary text filed with the announcement added a misconduct for instigating to Mylymok’s record under AHL Rule 28.1 and described the resulting one-game ban as automatic because it was his third instigating misconduct this season. One published version of the release states: “A misconduct for instigating was added to Mylymok’s record under the provisions of AHL Rule 28.1 (supplementary discipline); as a result, Mylymok received an automatic one-game suspension under the provisions of AHL Rule 46.20 for accumulating his third instigating misconduct this season.” Another republished copy of the same league text instead reads: “A misconduct for instigating was added to Mylymok’s record under the provisions of AHL Rule 28.1 (supplementary discipline); as a result, Mylymok received an automatic one-game suspension under the provisions of AHL Rule 46.11 for accumulating his third instigating misconduct this season.”
The two different rule citations in republished copies create an explicit inconsistency in the publicly circulated text; the IceHogs and several republishers use Rule 46.20 while another league copy uses Rule 46.11. The underlying disciplinary fact is consistent across releases: Mylymok’s third instigating misconduct this season triggered an automatic one-game suspension and he will not be available for the IceHogs’ Feb. 28 home game.

The published material does not describe the specific on-ice actions that led to the instigating misconduct in the Feb. 27 game, and no quotes from Mylymok, Rockford coaches, Hershey representatives, or the Player Safety Committee appear in the notices. The releases also do not mention an appeal, prior dates for the earlier instigating misconducts, or financial penalties.
Given the rule-number discrepancy in republished releases, verification of the correct rule citation should come from the AHL’s official Player Safety Committee release or direct confirmation from AHL communications. For now, the immediate impact is clear: Connor Mylymok will be absent from the IceHogs’ lineup at the BMO Center on Feb. 28, a one-game suspension imposed after his third instigating misconduct of the season.
