Rockwall ISD’s Alison Belliveau Elected ACTE Administration Division Vice President-Elect
Alison Belliveau has been elected ACTE administration division vice president-elect, giving Rockwall ISD a seat on a national CTE board with potential benefits for local workforce pathways.

Rockwall Independent School District is proud to announce that Alison Belliveau, Career and Technical Education (CTE) Executive Director and Principal at the Dr. Gene Burton College and Career Academy, has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE), the nation’s largest organization dedicated to advancing career and technical education."
Belliveau was selected by ACTE’s membership of approximately 30,000 educators, administrators, and CTE professionals nationwide to serve as Administration Division Vice President-Elect, the district said. The appointment places a Rockwall ISD leader in a national governance role for career and technical education at a moment when districts are intensifying efforts to link school programs to local labor markets.
Under the terms announced, Alison Belliveau will serve a one-year shadow term beginning July 2026, followed by a three-year term as vice president beginning July 2027. ACTE’s announcement lists a slate of incoming officers and program leads alongside Belliveau, including Rachel Knight, Josephine Wolfe, Dawn Ulmer, and Pepper Poulsen, and notes fellowship coordinators Doug Major, Ed.D. and Dawn Lindsley, Ed.D. The Association for Career and Technical Education is described as "the nation’s largest nonprofit association committed to preparing youth and adults for successful careers through high-quality CTE programs."
For Rockwall County, Belliveau’s new role could translate into greater visibility for local CTE priorities and expanded access to national networks, best practices, and potential partnerships with employers. Rockwall ISD emphasized the district’s pride in the selection and its broader momentum across academics and career programs; the district congratulated Mrs. Belliveau "on this significant achievement and thanks ACTE for its continued commitment to strengthening career and technical education across the country." A post on X included the fragment "District officials say Belliveau's election reflects Rockwall ISD's growing leadership role in workforce development and career-focused" in noting the development.

The appointment also comes amid other district highlights visible on the same news page, including Advanced Placement recognitions, competitive student accomplishments, and a longtime "Superior" financial rating, signaling a stable local context for expanding career education. Dr. Gene Burton College and Career Academy stands to benefit from elevated connections between Rockwall ISD and national CTE policymakers and practitioners.
Belliveau’s shadow term begins July 2026, with the full vice president role starting July 2027. For Rockwall County residents, the practical next steps will be watching how national engagement filters down into classroom opportunities, employer collaboration, and career pathways for students in Rockwall ISD.
