Six Warhammer Open tickets go on sale for spring, summer weekends
Tickets for six Warhammer Open weekends went on sale Friday 27 February at 6PM UK time, with Maastricht announced as the first ever European Warhammer Open and Edmonton confirmed for 19–21 June.

Tickets for six Warhammer Open weekends, including the first ever European Open in Maastricht, went on sale Friday 27th February at 6PM UK time, that’s 1pm Eastern Time in the USA. Warhammer Community directed buyers to "follow the Cvent links below for further details," and FrontlineGaming ran the blunt take: "If your calendar has been feeling a little too empty, that problem is now solved."
The six confirmed Warhammer Opens cover Europe, the UK, and North America: Maastricht (Netherlands), Birmingham (UK), Newport (UK), Dallas (USA), Edmonton (Canada), and Tacoma (USA). Maastricht is scheduled for 23–26 April 2026 at MECC Maastricht and is billed as the first ever Warhammer Open in Europe. Edmonton is scheduled for 19–21 June 2026 at the Edmonton EXPO Centre, 7515 118 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5B 0J2, with full daily schedule and venue logistics published on the Edmonton event page.
Programming at the Opens follows the three-day celebration format: Grand Tournaments for Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar, Kill Team events, Warhammer Underworlds Grand Clash entries, narrative events, the "legendary Hobby Challenge," expert hobby classes, painting showcases, and a travelling Warhammer store. FrontlineGaming highlighted "sessions with painting pros, including advanced topics like faces and freehand," and noted that "Maastricht still has a few tickets left, including tournaments and some instructional hobby events."
The competitive pathway is explicit: "The Grand Tournaments for Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer Age of Sigmar, Kill Team, and Warhammer Underworlds will also have coveted Golden Tickets for the World Championships of Warhammer in Barcelona up for grabs too!" That language from Warhammer Community places the Opens as a qualification route for Barcelona, with the wider calendar already noting the Grand Narrative in Atlanta in November 2026 as a separate marquee event.

Edmonton’s GameConCanada page supplies the clearest operational model for an Open weekend. Registration begins at 8:00 AM Friday 19 June with Round 1 kicking off at 9:30 AM. Friday runs Rounds 1–3 (9:30–12:30, 1:30–4:30, 5:00–8:00), Saturday runs Rounds 4–6 on the same block schedule, and Sunday closes with Rounds 7–8 and awards at 5:30–6:00. Check-in is in-person at the WARHAMMER organized play area in Hall C where staff scan a registration QR code and hand out event badges. The Edmonton page also states, "Is there a painting requirement? Yes, all miniatures used in Warhammer Open events must be fully painted and based to a reasonable standard. If you’re unsure, check your Player Pack for details."
For ticketing and contact, Warhammer Community reiterated the Cvent-based purchase flow and provided a central contact of warhammerevents@gwplc.com; GameConCanada directed Edmonton ticketing questions to Games Con Canada. FrontlineGaming added that "If international travel is not your thing, Warhammer World has four events in June. So you can still get that official event energy without hopping continents." Warhammer Community also teased that "there may be more Warhammer Opens to be announced later in the year," so watch for additional dates and Player Packs to be released as the season unfolds.
