Spokane County Fair Welcomes Newborn Highland Calf Clover as 2026 Mascot
A newborn Highland calf named Clover, born March 3 to former fair mascot Cedar, is driving a 7,500-pound diaper drive tied to the fair's 75th anniversary.

A newborn Highland calf named Clover arrived at Dalkena Highlands on March 3 and quickly earned the title of 2026 Spokane County Interstate Fair mascot, with fair organizers launching a monthlong "baby shower" diaper drive to mark both the birth and the fair's 75th anniversary.
Clover was born to Cedar, a 3-year-old Highland cow who previously served as a Spokane County Interstate Fair mascot. The fair is partnering with Partners INW (Partners Inland Northwest) to collect 7,500 pounds of diapers for local families in need, a target the fair tied directly to its 75th year. "We buy diapers for just $0.18 each, so $100 provides approximately 555 diapers," the fair noted in its announcement, underscoring how far cash contributions stretch through the partnership.
To mark St. Patrick's Day on March 17, the fair invited donors who contributed that Tuesday to enter a drawing for four free 2026 fair admission tickets.

Diapers can be dropped off in person at the Spokane County Fair and Expo Center at 404 N Havana St Suite 1 in Spokane, or at Partners INW headquarters at 10814 E Broadway Ave in Spokane Valley. Cash donations are also accepted at both locations and will go directly toward purchasing diapers. The fair office at 404 N Havana Suite 1, Spokane Valley, WA 99212 is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Donations will be accepted through the end of the 2026 Spokane County Interstate Fair, which is scheduled to run September 11-20.
The fair's goal of 7,500 pounds is no accident: the figure mirrors the fair's 75th anniversary milestone, framing the community diaper drive as both a celebration of Clover's arrival and a reflection of how long the fair has been a fixture in the Spokane region.
