SRP Federal Credit Union Reopens Allendale Branch, Restoring In-Person Services Feb. 18

The event at 224 Flat Street East brought SRP’s total branch network to 21 locations, and SRP CEO Liz Ponder framed the opening as part of a broader commitment to the community. Ponder said, “This branch represents our commitment to providing stronger financial futures, expanded access to services, and a trusted place for members to manage, grow, and protect their finances,” and added, “Today, we cut a ribbon. Tomorrow, we grow a legacy – together.”

SRP’s own posts describe the Allendale branch as located “at the heart of the community, offering convenient services near commercial and residential areas” at 224 Flat St. E. The credit union posted on Feb. 23, 2026 that it “celebrates the opening of a new Allendale, SC branch” and included a photo caption that reads, “SRP and community leaders pose for a ribbon-cutting ceremony photo in front of SRP Federal Credit Union's new Allendale, SC branch.”

The Allendale reopening follows a February 2025 groundbreaking for the site. A Feb. 28, 2025 SRP post said board members and executives joined local leaders for the groundbreaking, with participants pictured holding shovels behind a dirt mound painted with the SRP logo. That post said the new location was “expected to be completed by winter 2025.” The ribbon-cutting on Feb. 18, 2026 represents the public opening date in SRP’s timeline; the posts do not state reasons for the difference between the expected completion window and the reopening date.

SRP executives and board members attended the ribbon-cutting alongside local leaders and members of the community, according to SRP’s account of the event. Photo captions and SRP messaging emphasize community participation, while the credit union reiterated institutional goals to expand access across Allendale County.

SRP also lists upcoming organizational events on its site: SRP's 66th Annual Membership Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 31, 2026, with registration and Meet the Candidates beginning at 6 PM and the meeting starting at 7 PM. SRP’s public materials state plainly that the organization is “committed to making financial services accessible across its field of membership,” a line the credit union uses to frame the Allendale reopening as part of that effort.
