Terrifier star David Howard Thornton proposes in full Art the Clown costume

David Howard Thornton took the most intimate step of his life while wearing the mask, makeup and bloodless grin of Art the Clown. The Terrifier actor proposed to fiancée Jada Christine at the Huntsville Comic & Pop Culture Expo in Huntsville, Alabama, then shared the moment on Instagram on April 18, turning a marriage proposal into a piece of franchise theater.

The video showed Christine reacting in shock before saying yes as Thornton slipped an engagement ring onto her left ring finger. Christine said in Instagram Stories that the couple officially started dating in July 2025 and that her life had changed for the better since meeting Thornton. She also said she had come from a relationship in which she had to beg to be treated right, and described Thornton as treating her like a goddess. The pair also share a chihuahua named Lulu, a small domestic detail that contrasted sharply with the full Art the Clown costume surrounding the proposal.

The response reflected how deeply horror fandom rewards the collapse between performer and persona. The engagement arrives as Terrifier remains one of horror’s most visible modern properties. Terrifier 3 reached theaters in October 2024, and Leone has said Terrifier 4 is in development, with the script very close to completion and pre-production expected to begin this spring. No release date has been announced, but Thornton’s proposal added another viral image to a franchise that knows how to turn fan culture into momentum.
