The Quasi Kings release dub-forward single Herb for Me featuring Passafire, Derajah
The Quasi Kings, a Columbus, Ohio reggae-rock collective, announced a dub-forward single “Herb for Me” featuring Ted Browne of Passafire and Jamaican singer Derajah, out March 6, 2026.

The Quasi Kings announced on March 2 that they will release a dub-forward single titled “Herb for Me” on March 6, 2026, and the track features Ted Browne of Passafire alongside Jamaican singer Derajah, per the band’s statement. The band promoted the new single on Instagram with a presave push and a tour notice, posting: “PRESAVE OUR NEW SINGLE “HERB FOR ME” NOW! - ON TOUR NOW Click for tickets & listen ⬇️⬇️. Throwback!!!! Here's a video of Zach Singing “Ghost Man” by”
The group identifies itself as a Columbus, Ohio reggae-rock collective and has repeatedly described its sound as mixing “elements of reggae, dancehall, hip-hop, soca, rock and more,” a line they used in a Dailyreggae interview excerpt that also notes they released a six-track EP in late 2018. Apple Music’s artist page lists that EP as Throwaway Culture - EP (2018) and shows later work including the album Eye of the Storm (2022) and singles such as Real Nice (2021) and How We Livin' (feat. Tropidelic) (2021).
Dailyreggae’s profile places the band’s core around two brothers, and in that excerpt the speaker says, “My brother Zach (24) and I (26) are the core of the group.” The same profile ties the brothers’ reggae education to Columbus’ The Ark Band and to time playing with Shrub in high school, and it records a past session note: “I recorded an album called Highceratops with them in 2013. I was 18. I play bass and sing lead on ‘Fast Lane’, ‘Coconut Tree’, and ‘What I Would Do’. My brother (sax, percussion and vocals) joined shortly after that.”
The band has toured the U.S., noting they “earned our chops touring the U.S., opening for Badfish-Sublime Tribute for a few years,” and Instagram’s “ON TOUR NOW” line signals current live activity tied to the single’s promotion. The Dailyreggae excerpt also chronicles recent lineup shifts, saying, “We had a few core members step down over the last year and it had undoubtedly been tough,” and that the group has been “playing with old friends (Kohl Fixari of the Ark Band, Andrew and Jess Willard) and forging new musical connections.”

Production names appear in the Dailyreggae copy in relation to “this track,” though the profile does not explicitly tie those credits to “Herb for Me.” The excerpt states, “This is the first of our releases to feature Odane Foster on drums, he’s got four more on the album. He brings a great energy to the takes. Pre-pandemic we saw Quinn Carson (trombonist/orchestra coordinator for Drunk History, Listen To Your Vegetables & Eat Your Parents) out on the road a lot (playing with Spiritual Rez and Badfish) and we’re glad we could get him on trumpet and trombone on this track. Lovingly engineered and mixed by our main man Eric Jones at Steezo Sound.”
Past collaborations underscore the Quasi Kings’ cross-scene reach: James Begin of Tropidelic was featured on “How We Livin’,” and Dailyreggae notes Begin is “also in a gnarly rap group called Cicero.” With “Herb for Me” arriving March 6 and a presave campaign live, the Quasi Kings are pushing a dub-forward single that folds their stated genre mix into a collaboration with Ted Browne and Derajah while the band continues to tour and reshape its lineup.
