President Donald Trump lashed out Thursday at four prominent conservative media figures and the Wall Street Journal's editorial board in a pair of Truth Social posts that laid bare a widening rupture between the president and right-wing commentators who helped build his political brand.

In a 482-word post, Trump called Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens and Alex Jones "stupid people" and "NUT JOBS" who run "Third Rate Podcasts," asserting they all share "one thing in common: low IQs." The broadside was directly tied to the ongoing U.S. conflict with Iran, which the military began bombing on Feb. 28. Trump accused the four, without evidence, of believing "it is wonderful" for Iran to possess a nuclear weapon.

The attacks on each figure turned pointedly personal. Trump labeled Carlson a "Hand Flailing Fool" who "couldn't even finish College" and suggested the former Fox News host had been "a broken man" since his 2023 firing. He recommended Carlson "see a good psychiatrist." Kelly was called out for her famous 2015 Republican primary debate question, which Trump has never forgiven. Owens, whom Trump dubbed "'Crazy' Candace," was mocked for her claims about the First Lady of France, with Trump adding that the French first lady is "a far more beautiful woman than Candace." Jones received arguably the harshest treatment; Trump said the conspiracy theorist "lost his entire fortune, as he should have" for calling the Sandy Hook massacre a hoax. Trump concluded by declaring all four "LOSERS" who will remain so permanently.

The social media offensive came days after Carlson, on Monday's episode of his podcast, criticized Trump's Easter Truth Social post threatening to bomb Iranian civilian infrastructure. Kelly, appearing on Piers Morgan's show Wednesday, called the ceasefire deal with Tehran a form of "surrender" and said the war "was folly to begin with."

In a separate post, Trump turned on the Wall Street Journal's editorial board after it published a piece titled "Trump Declares Premature Victory in Iran." The board had warned the president it was too early to claim success while the Strait of Hormuz remained restricted. Trump fired back on Truth Social, calling the Journal "one of the worst and most inaccurate 'Editorial Boards' in the World" and insisting the ceasefire is a genuine victory. "They'll eat their words," he wrote.

The Wall Street Journal is owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp, making Trump's willingness to attack it a notable signal of how aggressively he is policing dissent even from friendly media outlets. The two-week ceasefire with Iran, contingent on Tehran reopening the strait, remains fragile, and the political blowback from the right shows no sign of subsiding.
