Trump's Boeing jet spotted at SFO Monday, photos circulate online
Photos of President Donald Trump’s Boeing 757-200, branded "TRUMP," circulated after it was spotted on the tarmac at San Francisco International Airport, prompting loud social-media backlash.

Photographs and social-media posts showing President Donald Trump’s Boeing 757-200, widely called "Trump Force One," on the ground at San Francisco International Airport circulated online after the aircraft was photographed on Monday, and airport representatives confirmed to SFGATE that the jet was at SFO. The images, one credited to Reddit user u/BEB_expert, spread in Bay Area subreddits and on other platforms, drawing sharp local reaction.
The aircraft is distinctive for the large blocky TRUMP lettering along its fuselage. Multiple outlets described the jet, and reporting traced interior and ownership claims to the Trump Organization: the plane was reportedly purchased in 2010 for about $100 million and, according to the organization as quoted by outlets, includes two private guestrooms, three bathrooms, dining and conference areas, an extensive entertainment system, customized Italian leather seats embroidered with the family crest, and 24-karat gold-plated accents. The Trump Organization, as cited in coverage, has called the 757 the "crown jewel" of the Trump Fleet.
Who was aboard the plane during the SFO appearance remains unconfirmed. Flightradar24 could not publicly display additional information about the aircraft, and no passenger manifest has been released. SFist reported that President Trump’s public schedule showed he was in Washington, D.C. all day on Monday, indicating Trump himself was not on the jet; SFist also speculated without confirmation that a family member may have been using the plane.
Local social-media users posted blunt reactions after the photo circulated. Reddit comments reconstructed in coverage included "Gross please leave," "Oh hell nawh. Get that trash outta here," and the hyphenated profanity, "F-k that plane, and its owners and guests." Coverage in the Daily Mail framed the appearance as provoking outrage among San Francisco residents, and SFGATE republished the SFO confirmation alongside those social posts.
SFGATE reported that press representatives for the Trump administration did not respond before its publication, and outlets that cited the Trump Organization’s descriptions of the jet did so as organization statements rather than independent verification. SFGATE also used a 2016 campaign-rally file photo credited to Brooks Kraft/Getty Images in its coverage, while the ground photo at SFO has been credited to u/BEB_expert on Reddit.
Key operational details remain unresolved: no outlet provided an exact arrival or departure time, the aircraft tail number was not published, and airport operations records or FAA movement logs were not cited. Airport representatives’ confirmation that the Boeing 757-200 visited SFO stands as the primary on-the-ground verification; absent a statement from the Trump Organization or an available flight-tracking record, basic questions about purpose and passengers at San Francisco International Airport remain unanswered.
