Two injured in knife attack targeting Jews in north London
Two people were injured after a knife attack in Golders Green, where a suspect was detained as police and community patrols responded.

Two people were injured after a man armed with a knife ran along Golders Green Road in north London and tried to stab Jewish members of the public, according to the volunteer-run security group Shomrim. The group said it responded immediately, detained the suspect before police arrived, and that officers then used a taser before making an arrest.
Hatzola, the Jewish community ambulance service, was treating the victims. Their condition was not immediately known. The attack took place in Golders Green, an area with a large Orthodox Jewish community, where residents have been on edge after a string of recent incidents involving Jewish-linked sites.
Shomrim said the assault involved two injured victims and a suspect who was seen running along the road with a knife. The group and other community security organizations have repeatedly urged people with information to come forward as concerns over antisemitic violence remain high in north London.
The latest attack came days after a suspected arson attack on a memorial wall on Limes Avenue in Golders Green at 00.15hrs on Monday, April 27, 2026, was reported to police later that day at 19.28hrs. Metropolitan Police said the case was being investigated by Counter Terror Policing London, but was not being treated as a terrorist incident. Officers also said the memorial wall itself was not damaged.

That wall includes a section dedicated to those killed in the Hamas attack on the Nova music festival in Israel in 2023, making the earlier fire particularly sensitive for local residents. After that incident, police said they had increased armed patrols and Project Servator deployments in Golders Green to reassure the community.
Community Security Trust and Shomrim both thanked police and Hatzola for their rapid response after the knife attack and urged anyone with information to contact police and CST. For many residents in Golders Green, the back-to-back incidents have sharpened fears around visible Jewish spaces and the security of everyday life in the neighborhood.
