ULUM Moab Opens Massage Cave and Expands Desert Wellness for 2026
ULUM Moab opened a stone-carved "massage cave" tucked just steps from Looking Glass Arch and rolled out three plunge pools, yoga, sound baths and Aesop‑oil treatments for its 2026 season.

ULUM Moab, the safari‑inspired luxury outdoor resort from Under Canvas and a MICHELIN Key hotel, is adding a stone‑carved massage cave to its desert wellness lineup and expanding on-site programming for the 2026 season. The new massage cave sits in a natural rock formation near Looking Glass Arch and is billed as a secluded sanctuary in the red rock landscapes of southern Utah.
“Together, the massage cave and the expanded wellness offerings mark a new chapter for ULUM—deepening the resort’s commitment to immersive, nature-driven luxury and wellbeing,” said Matt Gaghen, chief executive officer of Under Canvas. “Through thoughtful design, intentional partnerships, and the transformative power of place, ULUM Moab invites travelers to experience stillness, connection, and renewal in the heart of the desert.”
The resort’s marketing and treatment descriptions spell out the cave experience in exact terms: “The Massage Cave at ULUM Moab offers an immersive experience grounded in elemental beauty.” Company copy calls it “a secluded sanctuary space carved into a natural cave” and adds that the “stone‑carved chamber maintains a naturally balanced, perfectly ambient temperature year‑round.” Treatments listed on the property’s site include Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Hot Stone therapies enhanced by luxurious Aesop massage oils, described as “infused with botanical extracts and sophisticated aromas that deepen relaxation while nurturing the skin.”
ULUM Moab’s broader wellness slate extends beyond the cave. Programming on the official site lists yoga and sound bath meditation alongside three outdoor dipping pools that “offer a range of temperatures” and invite guests to “invigorate your morning with a dip in our cold plunge pool and relax after a day of adventure in our soothing hot plunge pool.” Food and beverage offerings are likewise being promoted as elevated, with a full‑service on‑site restaurant plus an espresso and smoothie bar featuring “intentionally sourced ingredients designed to support vitality, balance, and recovery.” Marketing imagery on the resort site highlights the lobby lounge at sunset and a woman doing yoga in front of Looking Glass Arch.

The resort also frames these changes within a sustainability and partnership strategy. ULUM Moab lists EV charging on-site, says it is DarkSky certified, and describes a partnership with DarkSky International, noting DarkSky International as the brand’s “sole nonprofit beneficiary.” The announcement also refers to a new partnership with Stakt; the release headlines the collaboration but does not detail Stakt’s role.
ULUM Moab will operate for the 2026 season from March 26 to October 29, with bookings directed through ULUM Resorts’ official website. The resort’s own copy closes on the experiential promise that guests can “slow down, reconnect, and restore through thoughtfully designed experiences rooted in nature, ritual, and intentional luxury.”
