AHL Depth Charts Altered by Recalls, Loans and PTOs Feb. 16-22
Los Angeles and Toronto recalled AHL netminders while Vancouver reassigned two Olympians; the AHL feed shows at least 22 roster moves that reshuffle depth charts before the playoff push.

Los Angeles recalled Erik Portillo (G) and Kirill Kirsanov (D) from AHL loans, and Toronto recalled Benoit-Olivier Groulx (C) from an AHL loan, according to the transactions feed, moves that immediately alter goaltending and blue-line depth across Ontario and Toronto's affiliates. At least 22 separate add/del entries appear in the Feb. 16-22 feed, underscoring heavy midseason roster churn tied to NHL callups and Olympic reassignments.
Lehigh Valley received three reinforcements on Feb. 19 when Carson Bjarnason (G), Oliver Bonk (D) and Hunter McDonald (D) were listed as "Returned on loan from Philadelphia (NHL)," strengthening both crease options and the defense corps as the Phantoms shuffle players between league levels. Milwaukee saw Matthew Murray (G) "Recalled from loan by Nashville (NHL)" in the same window, a netminder departure that coincides with an "ADD" line for T.J. Semptimphelter (G) described as "Recalled from loan to Atlanta (ECHL)", phrasing that appears in the feed verbatim and signals notable movement affecting Milwaukee's crease availability.

Grand Rapids' transaction entries are especially confusing on Feb. 19: Dominik Shine (F) appears twice, once as "Recalled from loan by Detroit (NHL)" and once as "Returned on loan from Detroit (NHL)," and Sheldon Dries (C) likewise has both "Returned on loan from Detroit (NHL)" and "Recalled from loan by Detroit (NHL)" entries. The duplicate add and del lines for Shine and Dries in the same date reflect the raw-feed nature of the listings and leave immediate roster status fluid for the Griffins as Detroit manages its midseason callup needs.
Several clubs added depth via short-term mechanisms. Bakersfield listed Alec Regula (D) as an "ADD" on Feb. 18 under a "Conditioning loan from Edmonton (NHL)," while Coachella Valley recorded Drake Burgin (D) as "Signed to PTO." Colorado logged Jacob MacDonald (D) as an "ADD" with the line "Loaned from Colorado (NHL)," illustrating how teams leverage conditioning loans and PTOs to cover stretches when veteran depth is required.
Olympic reassignments landed players back in the AHL mix: Vancouver reassigned Anri Ravinskis (LW) to Abbotsford "from Latvia National Team (Olympics)" and Lukas Reichel (C) "from German National Team (Olympics)," giving Abbotsford two forwards with international tournament minutes in their legs heading into the final regular-season months. Bridgeport's paperwork includes Jesse Pulkkinen (D) listed as "Reassigned by N.Y. Islanders (NHL) from Worcester (ECHL)" and Cam Berg (F) as "Recalled from loan to Worcester (ECHL)" in the feed's literal phrasing, further evidencing ECHL-AHL-NHL cascade movement.
The feed captures a mix of NHL recalls, AHL loans, conditioning stints and a PTO that collectively reshape lineups across affiliates and complicate depth-chart planning as clubs head into the critical stretch of the schedule. Roster managers now face compressed windows to integrate returned players such as Bjarnason, Bonk and Reichel while covering vacancies created by recalls like Portillo and Murray, with playoff positioning and player development both on the line.
