AHL, Rockford Announce 2026 All-Star Classic Feb 10-11 at BMO Center

The American Hockey League confirmed Rockford will host the 2026 AHL All-Star Classic presented by BMO, bringing a concentrated showcase of prospects and NHL-caliber talent to the renovated BMO Center Feb. 10-11. The announcement underlines the league’s developmental mission while delivering an economic and cultural spotlight for Rockford ahead of the two-night festival.

IceHogs Team President Ryan Snider added, "The IceHogs, in collaboration with our partners from the City, County, State of Illinois Office of Tourism, RAVE Board, and GoRockford, are thrilled to showcase our city and region to an international audience by hosting the 2026 AHL All‑Star Classic presented by BMO. Rockford knows how to throw a party, and we look forward to hosting the Stateline’s ultimate party for the AHL, our IceHogs and Blackhawks fans, and our community at large."

The event opens Feb. 10 with the All-Star Skills Competition at 8:00 ET / 7:00 CT, pitting All-Stars from the two Eastern Conference divisions against those from the two Western Conference divisions across seven skills events. The All-Star Challenge takes place Feb. 11 at the same start time and will use a 3-on-3 round-robin format featuring four division teams of 12 players each. The tournament includes six round-robin games of eight minutes apiece, with the top two teams meeting in an eight-minute championship game.

The rosters are a mix of elite prospects and experienced call-up players. Arthur Kaliyev, who leads the AHL with 24 goals and 42 points, will represent the Belleville Senators. Host selections include defenseman Kevin Korchinski and forward Nick Lardis for Rockford. Other top prospects named to the event include Denver Barkey, Quinn Hutson, Bradly Nadeau, and Gabe Perreault. The 48-player field includes 12 former NHL first-round picks, 43 first-time AHL All-Stars, 13 rookies, and roughly 30 players who have made NHL appearances this season. Coaches assigned to the event include Ryan Mougenel, Pascal Vincent, Dan Watson, and Mark Letestu.

This will be the first AHL All-Star Classic staged in the Midwest since Grand Rapids hosted in 2004, and it arrives as Rockford debuts major upgrades to its downtown arena. A $27-million investment by the State of Illinois, the City of Rockford, and public-private partners has modernized infrastructure, technology, concourses, and premium spaces at the BMO Center. The league and IceHogs also signaled a festival atmosphere, with the Jan. 29 release referencing All-Star Classic postgame parties at "Hard Rock Ca" (phrase truncated in the release).

Cleveland was named the 2027 All‑Star host, extending the AHL’s plan to rotate the showcase and give different markets the opportunity to highlight player development and local hospitality.
