Blues Sign Felix Trudeau to Entry-Level Deal, Forward Joins Springfield on PTO
Felix Trudeau's 12 power-play goals led all of NCAA hockey this season — now the Hobey Baker finalist is Springfield-bound on a PTO.

Felix Trudeau spent his college career building toward exactly this moment, and his final Sacred Heart season made the decision easy for St. Louis. The Blues signed the 23-year-old forward to a two-year entry-level contract, with Trudeau reporting to AHL affiliate Springfield Thunderbirds on a professional tryout for the remainder of the current season.
General manager Doug Armstrong made the announcement Monday, adding a player whose 2025-26 numbers put him among the nation's elite collegiate scorers. In 39 games for the Sacred Heart Pioneers, Trudeau posted 25 goals and 48 points, with his 25 goals ranking second nationally and his 12 power-play goals leading the entire country. His 48 points shared sixth overall in NCAA scoring. For that performance, the Atlantic Hockey Association named him Player of the Year and placed him on the conference's First All-Star Team. He was also named one of 10 finalists for the Hobey Baker Award, given annually to the top player in NCAA Division I men's hockey.
The two-year deal begins with the 2026-27 NHL season. Financial terms were not disclosed, though entry-level contracts for players of Trudeau's profile typically fall between $850,000 and $1,025,000 under the collective bargaining agreement.
Trudeau's college path wound through two programs before he found his footing as one of the AHA's most dangerous forwards. The Terrebonne, Quebec native spent his first two collegiate seasons at the University of Maine from 2022 to 2024, producing 13 points in 52 games. He transferred to Sacred Heart ahead of the 2024-25 season and immediately elevated his game, tallying 38 points with 15 goals, 23 assists, and 64 penalty minutes in his first year with the Pioneers while earning AHA Second All-Conference Team honors. His breakout continued in year two with the program. Over his two seasons at Sacred Heart combined, Trudeau piled up 40 goals and 86 points. Across all four NCAA seasons, he finished with 99 points on 46 goals and 53 assists, adding 171 penalty minutes in 130 games.

Before college, Trudeau put up 61 points in a single BCHL season with the West Kelowna Warriors, a number that signaled the scoring ability he would eventually fully unlock at the collegiate level.
The Blues expect Trudeau to step into a prominent offensive role with Springfield while he works on areas scouts have identified for development, specifically top-end skating speed and defensive structure, before his NHL contract begins next fall. The Thunderbirds were scheduled to host the Providence Bruins on Wednesday night, the earliest possible window for Trudeau's AHL debut.
For a Blues organization that has been building its pipeline through the draft and free agency, adding a college scorer who led the country in power-play goals gives Springfield a legitimate offensive weapon for its playoff push while handing Trudeau the professional runway his game now clearly demands.
