Cam Lund Replaces Filip Bystedt on 2026 AHL All‑Star Roster
Cam Lund has been added to the 2026 AHL All-Star Classic roster, replacing injured teammate Filip Bystedt and highlighting Lund’s breakout AHL season.

Cam Lund has been named to the 2026 AHL All-Star Classic roster and will join the Pacific Division contingent in Rockford, Ill., after San Jose announced he is replacing teammate Filip Bystedt, who was injured in the Barracuda’s 7-3 win over Abbotsford. The American Hockey League confirmed Lund’s addition to the event presented by BMO at the BMO Center on Feb. 10-11.
“The American Hockey League (@TheAHL) announced today that San Jose Barracuda (@SJBarracuda) forward Cam Lund has been named to the 2026 AHL All‑Star Classic presented by BMO, which will take place at the BMO Center in Rockford, Ill., from Feb. 10–11, 2026,” the team release stated. “Lund will replace teammate Filip Bystedt who was injured in the Barracuda’s 7-3 win over Abbotsford on Friday.”
Lund, 21, has earned the call on merit. He has appeared in 36 games for the Barracuda this season, recording 25 points on nine goals and 16 assists while accumulating 12 penalty minutes. “Prior to Saturday, he had collected points in his last six games (four goals, two assists), including a four-game goal streak from Jan. 21 to Jan. 31,” the team release noted, underscoring Lund’s recent hot stretch that pushed him into All-Star consideration.
A six-foot-two, 195-pound native of Bridgewater, Massachusetts, Lund brings a pedigree that includes a second-round selection by San Jose in the 2022 NHL Draft (34th overall) and a decorated collegiate career at Northeastern. Lund finished college as a two-time Hobey Baker nominee, tallied 93 points (36 goals, 57 assists) with a pair of hat tricks across 107 games, earned a spot on the Hockey East Rookie All-Star Team and was named Northeastern Rookie of the Year in 2022-23.
The AHL also announced a parallel roster move: Rockford IceHogs forward Brett Seney was added to the Central Division roster in place of Grand Rapids’ John Leonard. The All-Star weekend will include the AHL Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Ceremony on Feb. 11 at noon ET, with inductees Chris Bourque, Alexandre Giroux, Jim Wiemer and Wendell Young scheduled to be honored.
The roster shift will give Lund a national showcase at a moment when the AHL’s role as an NHL pipeline is underlined by league data showing more than 94 percent of past All-Star participants have gone on to NHL ice. For San Jose, Lund’s selection provides the Barracuda with an extra spotlight while Filip Bystedt’s availability remains uncertain following the Abbotsford game. Lund’s performance in Rockford could accelerate his profile within the Sharks organization and offers fans a preview of a young forward pushing for the next step in his pro career.
