Cleveland Monsters Eye Third Straight Playoff Berth With April Homestand
Cleveland opens its April homestand tonight vs. Milwaukee, three points are on the line as the Monsters chase a third straight Calder Cup Playoffs berth from third place in the North.

Sitting third in the AHL North Division at 31-19-6-1, the Cleveland Monsters opened their April homestand at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on Thursday, hosting the Milwaukee Admirals in a 7 p.m. tilt that launched the club's most consequential home stretch of the season. A third consecutive Calder Cup Playoffs berth is within range; the Monsters need to protect every standings point available before the schedule closes.
The three-game homestand is the back half of a six-game home stay that began March 26, giving Cleveland an extended runway to manufacture points without hitting the road. Last spring, the Monsters advanced to the second round of the Calder Cup Playoffs before falling 3-1 to the Laval Rocket. Back-to-back postseason appearances are already on the books, and the front office has been explicit: a third straight is the goal, not a bonus.
Thursday's opener doubled as First Responders Night presented by Physicians Ambulance, with recognition ceremonies held both on the ice and throughout the concourse. The acknowledgement of public safety workers gave the night stakes beyond the standings for an organization that has leaned into community programming as an attendance driver in the season's final weeks.
Saturday's home game shifts the mood entirely. The Monsters will transform into the "Cleveland Polish Boys" for the night, debuting a thematic alternate identity built around one of the city's most recognizable street foods. Game-worn Polish Boys jerseys go to auction in a live post-game session in section 105, with preview items available beforehand at the Community Corner across from Portal 6.
Forwards Roman Ahcan, Luca Pinelli, and Owen Sillinger have factored into the scoring push in recent outings, and Cleveland has been relying on structured defensive minutes and consistent goaltending to grind out tight wins in a North Division where seeding remains fluid. The Monsters cannot absorb an extended cold stretch; the final weeks of the regular season demand the kind of home-ice production these April games are designed to deliver.
