Golden Knights Send Bowman to Henderson, Paving Way for Hart's Return
Vegas sent Braeden Bowman back to Henderson to open a roster spot, with Carter Hart set to return from a lower-body injury that has sidelined him since January 8.

The Vegas Golden Knights reassigned right-winger Braeden Bowman to AHL Henderson on Wednesday, a move telegraphed by one larger objective: getting Carter Hart back in net before the playoffs begin.
Hart has been on long-term injured reserve since January 8, when he was helped off the ice at T-Mobile Arena after sustaining a lower-body injury against the Columbus Blue Jackets. At the trade deadline, general manager Kelly McCrimmon was direct about Hart's trajectory. "We're not putting him on season-ending LTIR," McCrimmon said. "He'll return at some point in the playoffs." With the regular season in its final days, that return appears imminent. Activating Hart from LTIR requires clearing a roster spot, and Bowman's assignment down accomplishes exactly that.
The 22-year-old Bowman has been one of the more compelling organizational stories in the Vegas system this season. Undrafted out of the OHL's Guelph Storm and originally signed to a minor-league deal, he earned a two-year entry-level contract in March 2025 after posting 14 goals and 36 points across 68 AHL games in his rookie campaign. He opened this season even hotter, recording seven goals and 12 points in his first 12 Henderson appearances before Vegas recalled him in November to help address an offensive slump following William Karlsson's lower-body injury.
Now he returns to a Henderson club that could use the depth as it navigates its own late-season positioning. His presence fills a real need for the Silver Knights rather than representing a dead end for the young winger.
Hart, meanwhile, signed with Vegas last October on a two-year, $4 million deal carrying a $2 million average annual value. His path to Vegas required clearing eligibility hurdles first, including a conditioning stint with Henderson in mid-November, where he went 1-1-0 with a 2.55 goals-against average before joining the NHL roster December 1. The lower-body injury in January cut that stint short, leaving Adin Hill and Akira Schmid to carry the goaltending load through the stretch run.
For a Golden Knights team pushing toward a playoff berth, Hart represents a significant upgrade in net. Bowman's reassignment was the final piece of paperwork standing in the way.
