Phantoms get Kolosov back; Golder recalled, Johannes and Perets loaned to Reading
Kolosov returns to Lehigh Valley, Golder is recalled from Reading, and Hunter Johannes and Yaniv Perets are loaned to Reading - moves that reshuffle goaltending and forward depth.

Aleksei Kolosov is back between the pipes for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms after the Philadelphia Flyers returned the 24-year-old netminder to the AHL club, the Phantoms announced. The move comes as Lehigh Valley also recalled winger Carson Golder from the Reading Royals and loaned forwards Hunter Johannes and goaltender Yaniv Perets to Reading, part of a flurry of roster shuffling designed to balance playing time and organizational depth.
“The Philadelphia Flyers have returned goaltender Aleksei Kolosov to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, according to General Manager Daniel Briere.” The reacquisition restores a hot hitter in the Phantoms’ crease: Kolosov has started 19 games this season, posting a 9-9-1 record with a 2.54 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage. He earned AHL Player of the Week honors on January 5 after stopping 60 of 61 shots in a two-game span, and recorded his second career shutout on December 31 against Hershey. Kolosov also put up a 30-save performance in a 6-1 win at Toronto on January 4 and collected first-star recognition in both outings.
Kolosov’s short stints at the NHL level have been uneven this season; Lehigh Valley’s release notes that he has appeared in four games for the Flyers in 2025-26, going 0-2-0 with a 4.00 GAA and .830 save percentage. ProHockeyRumors earlier tied a mid-January Flyers recall to Daniel Vladař leaving a game injured, while social reports noted the club placed Bobby Brink on injured reserve retroactive to January 6 to open roster flexibility. The quick back-and-forth underscores the way goaltending injuries and cap mechanics ripple through the NHL-AHL-ECHL pipeline.
Carson Golder’s recall rewards production in Reading. The 23-year-old left wing has three appearances for Lehigh Valley this season after making his Phantoms debut on December 28, and leads the Royals with 13 goals and 13 assists for 26 points in 34 games. Golder is a third-year pro, 6-foot-2 from Smithers, British Columbia, with 28 career AHL games (2-7-9) and 107 career ECHL outings producing 46-40-76.

The Phantoms also loaned Hunter Johannes and Yaniv Perets to Reading; Lehigh Valley’s announcement lists Perets as a goaltender, while one secondary transaction log mislabelled him as a forward. A separate transaction returned defenseman Hunter McDonald to Lehigh Valley from the Flyers on January 27, further shoring up depth.
For fans and the organization the moves have practical and cultural significance. Kolosov’s return brings a recent winner and an AHL weekly honoree back into the mix as Lehigh Valley chases consistency; his presence may also temper the need to burn NHL emergency call-ups. Golder’s recall signals the Royals-Phantoms pathway is producing NHL-eligible depth and gives local supporters a fresh player to follow. Team context shows Lehigh Valley tied for second in the AHL with eight regulation wins and holding an 8-4 record in decisions after regulation, with Tucker Robertson and Carson Bjarnason providing late-game value.
Next up, Kolosov will aim to convert recent AHL form into steady starts for the Phantoms while Golder tries to translate ECHL scoring into AHL impact. The transactions highlight an organization juggling short-term needs and long-term development as the calendar turns toward the playoff stretch.
