Poirier's 33 Saves Carry Texas Stars Past San Jose Barracuda 2-1
Rémi Poirier tied his career-high with 43 saves as Texas overcame a 1-0 deficit, with Cross Hanas and Dylan Hryckowian scoring 16 seconds apart in the third.

Rémi Poirier absorbed 44 shots and surrendered exactly one. That was the margin. Cross Hanas and Dylan Hryckowian scored 16 seconds apart to open the third period Tuesday, lifting the Texas Stars to a 2-1 comeback win over the San Jose Barracuda at Tech CU Arena and capping a six-game road trip on a winning note.
San Jose dominated the possession battle for long stretches, outshooting Texas 44-34 and controlling most of the play through 40 minutes. None of it mattered while Poirier was in net. He turned away all 14 first-period shots in a scoreless opening frame, setting the tone for what became a 43-save performance that tied his career high.
The Barracuda broke through at 5:37 of the second. Lucas Carlsson entered the zone on the left wing and threaded a feed to Filip Bystedt in the slot; Bystedt snapped it home for his 19th goal of the season to put San Jose up 1-0. Texas had a golden chance to level immediately when Sean Chisholm sprung loose for a shorthanded breakaway in the final four minutes of the period, but his shot slid wide of Laurent Brossoit.
Hanas erased the deficit at 1:24 of the third. He forced a turnover deep in the offensive zone, the puck found Matthew Seminoff for a wrister off Brossoit, and Hanas punched in the rebound to tie it at 1-1. It was his eighth point across his last eight games. What followed sealed the night: just 16 seconds later, Ayrton Martino crossed into the zone and found Hryckowian in the slot. The rookie fired it past Brossoit for the go-ahead goal, his first as a professional.

San Jose pressed hard in the final minutes and finished with that 44-34 shot advantage, but Poirier gave them nothing. Brossoit made 32 saves in the loss, and with the defeat, the Barracuda dropped their fourth straight game.
Texas finishes the road swing 3-3 and heads home with points that will matter as the playoff race tightens. The Stars return to the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park on Friday to host the Chicago Wolves.
