Arttu Hyry sparked an early barrage with two first-period goals as the Texas Stars opened with three in the opening 20 minutes and beat the Chicago Wolves 4-2 at Allstate Arena in Rosemont. The Stars built a multi-goal cushion and held on behind Remi Poirier’s goaltending to collect two important points.

"The Stars nearly opened the scoring 3:30 into the first period when Matthew Seminoff fired a shot off the post, but the Wolves responded 21 seconds later when Domenick Fensore let a shot go from the left point that Nikita Pavlychev tipped past Remi Poirier," TexasStars reported, describing how Chicago took the early lead following a Texas chance. Seminoff’s post proved a near-miss before Pavlychev’s tip beat Poirier to make it 1-0.

Texas answered before the period’s end. "It was a lead that would last approximately 10 minutes as Jack Becker was able to cash on a rebound after crashing the net to tie the game 1-1 at 13:58 of the first period," 100degreehockey wrote, with Becker scoring on the third try after Tristan Bertucci’s right-wing drive and Artem Shlaine’s initial rebound attempt.

The Stars seized control moments later when Hyry struck twice. "The Stars doubled their lead under three minutes later when Arttu Hyry fired a wrist shot over the shoulder of Cayden Primeau for his eighth goal of the season. Hyry wasted no time adding another just 29 seconds later, as he tipped a Cameron Hughes shot from the left half-wall to make it 3-1," TexasStars noted, marking Hyry’s multi-goal night and Hughes’ role on the second tally.

Texas extended the lead in the second period when Matthew Seminoff converted again. "Seminoff added a fourth goal for Texas 6:47 into the middle frame as he snapped a wrist shot from the left circle over the blocker of Primeau and the Stars carried that 4-1 cushion into the third," per TexasStars. The boxscore showed Texas with 33 shots and Chicago with 30, and 100degreehockey reported Poirier made 28 saves en route to the win; Cayden Primeau took the loss for Chicago.

Chicago chipped away on a third-period power play but could not complete the comeback. "Chicago earned a power play eight minutes into the third period and capitalized. Viktor Neuchev slid a pass through the crease that was going wide of the net, but it deflected off a Stars skate and in to cut the Texas lead to 4-2," TexasStars wrote.

Ubeo Business Services’ three-star selections listed Hyry first, Seminoff second and Cameron Hughes third. 100degreehockey added broader context, saying the Stars entered the penultimate month fourth in the Central Division and winners of six of their last 10, and that Poirier’s performance helped Texas pull even on points with the idle Manitoba Moose for third place. An earlier meeting this season saw Chicago prevail 5-4 on Feb. 21, according to an automated report from TheRinkLive, underscoring the teams’ competitive history.
