Artem Shlaine needed all of ten seconds to change everything Saturday night at Lee's Family Forum.

With the Texas Stars and Henderson Silver Knights knotted at two heading into the second period, Shlaine scored just ten seconds into the frame to hand Texas the lead for good. Jack Becker followed by burying a chance in front of goaltender Cameron Whitehead to push the margin to two, and the Silver Knights never recovered, falling 6-3 as Texas extended its own winning streak to four straight games while ending Henderson's run at six.

The Stars had actually trailed early in their own momentum before Jeremie Poirier opened the scoring. The Texas defenseman lifted a backhand shot over Whitehead to put Texas on the board first, a feat the Stars had now accomplished in five of their last six games. Henderson pulled even, but Matthew Seminoff converted on a power play at the end of the first period, taking advantage of a whiffed shot to tie the game at two. That tie did not last long enough to matter.

"We were fine going into the locker room, tied two-two," said Henderson coach Craig. "We said they liked the cross-ice plays, which they do. Our gaps and our checking detail wasn't up to par in the first 10 seconds, but we reset ourselves, got back to our game. Just couldn't find a way to get the next one."

Texas sealed it with two empty-net goals late, producing a final margin that obscured how competitive the middle portions of the game had been. "It would be as close as the Silver Knights would get," as the game was more tightly contested than the 6-3 score indicated.

Craig acknowledged his team's approach broke down in ways that did not match their recent road form. "Our checking game and how we managed the game wasn't quite how we had done it on the road," he said. "We got a little bit cute tonight against a good checking team, a team that does a good job through the neutral zone, and I think it cost us a bit of momentum at the end."

Among the notable storylines on Henderson's side was the continued emergence of Trevor Connelly, a Silver Knights forward and Golden Knights top prospect who returned from injury and arrived at Lee's Family Forum riding an 11-game point streak. Connelly kept that streak alive even in defeat and credited those around him for his sustained production. "Lot of credit to the coaches and my linemates. I think they've helped a ton with that stuff," he said. "I've been having so much fun here coming to the rink every day, so it's been awesome."

Poirier's role in Texas's surge carries added context. The Dallas Stars acquired the defenseman from the Calgary Flames in exchange for Gavin White on February 2, and he has been a consistent early-game contributor for the club since joining the organization. The win at Lee's Family Forum marks Texas's second time this season making Henderson a victim of a streak-breaking loss; the Stars also handed the Silver Knights a 3-1 defeat at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park on January 31 while extending their own win streak to five at that point.

Texas capitalized on special teams and depth scoring throughout Saturday's victory, with four different skaters finding the net in named contributions before the empty-net insurance. The four-game win streak positions the Stars well as the calendar moves deeper into the stretch run of the 2025-26 AHL season.
