Chicago turned a 3-1 deficit into a crushing 4-3 overtime victory at Grand Rapids on Saturday night, and Felix Unger Sörum delivered the dagger that put the Wolves one win from the Central Division finals. His second goal of the night came 5:14 into extra time, sealing a comeback that flipped the pressure squarely onto the Griffins.

The winning play began at the blue line, where Charles Alexis Legault kept an errant clearing attempt in the zone and quickly sent a wrist shot toward the net. Unger Sörum got the final touch, redirecting the puck past Michal Postava and finishing off a series-changing road win. Chicago now heads home with a 2-0 lead and a chance to close the series at Allstate Arena on Tuesday.

Grand Rapids looked in control early behind Michael Brandsegg-Nygård, who piled up a goal and two assists in the first 12:04. That burst helped the Griffins build a 3-1 lead and briefly made it feel like the home team might even the series before Chicago settled in. Instead, the Wolves kept pressing and steadily worked their way back into the game, refusing to let the early deficit define the night.

The final score reflected just how tight the contest was once the opening rush passed. Cayden Primeau made 23 saves for Chicago, while Postava stopped 30 for Grand Rapids, and both goaltenders absorbed long stretches where one shot could have swung everything. Instead, the difference came down to a few critical details: a puck kept alive at the line, a forward willing to attack traffic, and a finish from Unger Sörum when the game was hanging in the balance.

For Chicago, the result was about more than a single overtime win. It was the second straight road victory over the division champion Griffins, a statement that the Wolves have taken control of the series by breaking Grand Rapids’ home-ice advantage and dictating the terms of the matchup. A win on Tuesday would end the series before it ever returned to Michigan.
