CrossFit opens The Ranch to fans with guided tour and workout
CrossFit will let fans tour The Ranch in July, with just 40 spots per group, a hill run, workout gear from the 2020 Games and a piece of old-school history.

CrossFit is opening its most mythic address to fans this summer, and it is doing it in a way that feels more like a premium access pass than a museum stop. The Ranch Experience will run in two-hour blocks from Wednesday, July 22 through Friday, July 24, with only 40 spots per group, and the tickets will be sold separately from 2026 CrossFit Games tickets.
The draw is obvious: The Ranch in Aromas, California, was the site of the first CrossFit Games in 2007 and hosted the event through 2009. CrossFit says the warehouse still holds the original hopper and the first Games leaderboard, complete with handwritten scores, which makes the property one of the sport’s few living relics instead of just a remembered one. For longtime fans, that is the kind of access that usually lives in grainy highlight packages and old message-board lore. For everyone else, it is a rare chance to stand where the sport’s modern mythology began.
The package is built to feel hands-on. Fans will get a guided tour, a walk up the legendary hill that has punished generations of Games athletes, an on-site workout with official 2020 Games equipment, an exclusive behind-the-scenes history talk and photo opportunities across the property. CrossFit also says the experience will include a networking session with food and drinks, plus an exclusive YETI bottle and a limited-edition Ranch challenge coin. Games ticket holders are expected to get early access before tickets go on sale to the public, tightening the sense that this is aimed first at the most committed followers.

The timing is not accidental. CrossFit’s 2026 season is built around a return to California roots and the sport’s 20th anniversary, with the Finals set for July 24-26 at SAP Center in San Jose. The Masters CrossFit Games will run July 21-23, and the CrossFit Owners and Coaches Conference is scheduled for July 22-23 at the Signia by Hilton San Jose. That puts The Ranch Experience squarely inside a full Games-week calendar, not as a side trip but as part of the event ecosystem.
CrossFit is selling more than nostalgia here. It is packaging heritage as an experience, and in a sport that has always traded on grit, suffering and iconic venues, that is smart business. The Ranch is no longer just where CrossFit started; it is becoming a destination fans have to book, travel to and pay extra to enter.
