French Throwdown opened the next squeeze in the Masters race on May 15 in Paris, with Torian Pro set to follow May 21-24 in Brisbane. For athletes trying to book a ticket to San Jose, the calendar leaves almost no margin for error: the Age-Group Online Semifinals already ran May 7-11, and the Individual Online Semifinals do not begin until June 11.

CrossFit has made the structure plain. The Semifinals are the final qualifying stage for the 2026 CrossFit Games and Divisional Games, and the season is being staged in layers rather than in one uninterrupted online push. Age-group athletes had to clear the Open first by finishing in the top 25 percent to reach Quarterfinals, then navigate either in-person Semifinals or the online route. That matters because the in-person events demand travel, climate adjustment and immediate recovery, while the online window shifts the pressure to judging, video setup and flawless execution at home or in an affiliate.

The timing is especially tight for Masters athletes who want to chase multiple in-person stops. French Throwdown runs May 15-17 in Paris, then Torian Pro follows only days later, May 21-24, in Brisbane, Queensland. Those dates force hard decisions about whether to commit to one event, attempt both on a compressed travel schedule or hold back energy for the June online Semifinals. CrossFit’s schedule also lists additional Masters in-person lanes at Legends Championship, Magic City Games and LatAM Masters, which means the age-group path is now spread across several venues and several formats.

The early checkpoints already matter. Legends Championship awarded 28 Masters invites to the 2026 Masters CrossFit Games, making it a significant first wave in the division. The final destination is also locked in: the 2026 Masters CrossFit Games by Legends are scheduled for July 21-23 at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California.

That is the broader story of this month’s run of events. CrossFit’s 2026 season marks two decades of the Games and the 20th anniversary of the CrossFit Games, but for Masters athletes the anniversary season is defined less by celebration than by logistics. Paris, Brisbane and then San Jose now form the route, and every missed recovery day or misread scheduling choice can change who gets through.
