Versaterm announced from Mesa, Ariz. on Feb. 18, 2026 that it has acquired Aloft, an FAA‑approved Unmanned Service Supplier whose airspace intelligence and flight‑authorization systems will be folded into DroneSense by Versaterm to create a single platform for flight planning, FAA clearance, mission execution and fleet management. Versaterm CEO Steve Seoane said, “Aloft is a natural complement for DroneSense by Versaterm and will remove blockers our partner agencies face on a day‑to‑day basis.”

Aloft is described by the buyer as “the industry‑standard in airspace intelligence and flight safety solutions” and as the company that “powers the vast majority of Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability (LAANC) authorizations in the United States,” a claim that positions Aloft as a backbone for compliant operations in complex and restricted airspace. Aloft founder and CEO Jon Hegranes said, “Aloft was built to power the airspace layer of modern drone operations. Joining Versaterm allows us to bring that airspace intelligence to a broader platform serving public safety, critical infrastructure, enterprise, and government operators alike.”

Technical integration will put Aloft’s real‑time airspace intelligence and automated authorization flow inside DroneSense mission workflows, according to industry analysis. The acquisition brings APIs and an FAA‑certified operations link that can enable automated clearance checks and authorization submissions inside mission flows, reducing operator context switching and centralizing audit trails for regulatory oversight.

The deal follows Versaterm’s July 2025 purchase of DroneSense and the vendor’s subsequent tie‑ins into dispatch systems. DroneSense has been integrated into Versaterm’s Computer‑Aided Dispatch system “since October,” a sequence of moves that Versaterm frames as building a vertically integrated drone response platform for public safety. The company pitches the combined stack as enabling agencies to dispatch drones with the same speed and procedural clarity as patrol, fire, and EMS units.

Versaterm frames the acquisition as a public‑safety play aimed at law enforcement, fire, EMS and critical infrastructure operators, with practical applications from search‑and‑rescue to fire mapping and tactical support. “We are significantly accelerating our drone strategy with this acquisition. Integrating Aloft into our DroneSense platform is the pivotal next step in enabling agencies to transform how they both respond and communicate,” Seoane added.

Deal terms were not disclosed and no customer migration timeline was published with the announcement. Agencies, enterprise buyers and government operators should confirm continuity of LAANC service and ask Versaterm for a timeline showing when Aloft’s authorization capabilities will appear inside DroneSense and how existing Aloft customers will be supported. The acquisition’s headline stat, that Aloft powers the vast majority of LAANC approvals, gives the move immediate operational significance for any program that relies on rapid, compliant access to controlled airspace.
