Morgan State unveils 2026 football schedule, highlights two new home matchups
Morgan State released its 2026 football schedule, unveiling two newly announced home games and an early FBS test that will define the Bears' season pace and expectations.

Morgan State unveiled a compact, assertive 2026 football slate that adds two previously unannounced home games - Virginia-Lynchburg and Robert Morris - while opening with back-to-back road tests that include an inaugural trip to face Arizona State. The January 29 release lays out a season that leans on early travel and a November finish that will shape postseason hopes.
The Bears open at North Carolina A&T on August 29 at Truist Stadium in Greensboro, then travel west to face Arizona State on September 5 at Mountain America Stadium in Tempe. The Arizona State matchup is the first meeting in program history and is an FBS test that many will use to gauge Morgan State’s readiness. Morgan State then returns home to Hughes Stadium for its Sept. 12 home opener against Virginia-Lynchburg, one of the two newly revealed home contests. The schedule continues with trips to Towson (Sept. 19 at Johnny Unitas Stadium) and Villanova (Oct. 3), and an open date on September 26 that breaks the early road stretch.
Homecoming is set for October 10 when Robert Morris visits Hughes Stadium. Conference play begins in late October with five Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference games: Howard on Oct. 24, South Carolina State on Oct. 31, Delaware State on Nov. 7, Norfolk State on Nov. 14, and a regular-season finale at North Carolina Central on Nov. 21. The official release notes, “The Bears open the season with back‑to‑back road tests, beginning August 29 at North Carolina A&T before traveling west to face Arizona State on September 5. Morgan State opens its home slate at Hughes Stadium in Baltimore, Md., on September 12 against Virginia‑Lynchburg, one of the two contests that had not been previously announced. [...] November brings a challenging finish, with Morgan State traveling to Delaware State on November 7, returning home to face Norfolk State on November 14, and closing the regular-season November 21 at North Carolina Central.”
Analysts framed the slate as intentional and revealing. Cobi Simmons of HBCUGAMEDAY wrote that “Morgan State Bears football did not design its 2026 schedule for comfort. Instead, the Bears built it on belief,” and added that “This approach avoids moral victories. Instead, it invites accountability.” Simmons argued that Morgan State can “absorb a loss at Arizona State” while noting that late-season matchups against South Carolina State, Delaware State and North Carolina Central “come with context, as these programs enter November built for championship runs.” The early sequence of four road games in the first six weeks will force quick answers about depth, execution and special teams.

Practical details are still forthcoming: kickoff times and TV windows will be added to the school and national schedule pages as they are announced. Fans shopping for away tickets will find lowest listed prices on third-party sites showing Truist Stadium at $116 and Mountain America Stadium at $37, while Towson listings were marked N/A. SeatGeek’s venue listings also outline premium and VIP seating options and typical gameday promotions at Hughes Stadium. For ticket or schedule questions, Morgan State Athletics can be reached at 443.885.3333.
What this means for Bears fans is straightforward: 2026 is designed as an evaluation season. The combination of an FBS opener, multiple CAA opponents and a condensed MEAC run into November turns every nonconference test into a measuring stick and every late-season game into a potential résumé builder. Kickoff times, broadcast partners and ticket details will complete the picture in the weeks ahead.
