The $560,000 guarantee attached to North Dakota's Sept. 19 date at Nebraska is the most straightforward number on the Fighting Hawks' 2026 schedule. What happens on that field in Lincoln, though, could define the program's entire season arc.

North Dakota's 12-game slate builds methodically toward that Big Ten measuring stick before pivoting into the heart of Missouri Valley Football Conference play. The Fighting Hawks open with back-to-back home tests, hosting LIU on Aug. 27 and St. Thomas on Sept. 5, then hit the road at Portland State on Sept. 12.
