Chase Branham’s stock kept climbing this week, with Rivals pushing the Indiana 2027 commit up to No. 28 overall and No. 5 among shooting guards in the latest Industry Rankings. The jump gives Indiana an early pledge who is no longer just in the class, but near the top of it.

Branham, a combo guard from Rogersville, Missouri, is now listed at La Lumiere School in La Porte, Indiana, and committed to the Hoosiers in September. That combination matters more than the number alone. At 6-foot-4, as listed on his 247Sports profile, Branham has the kind of frame that lets a staff project him across multiple backcourt roles instead of asking him to survive as a one-position guard.

The latest rise also came during a big evaluation stretch in Indiana. Branham was competing at the USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Team minicamp at Westfield on July 6, putting him in front of scouts and evaluators in the center of Indiana basketball country. For a player still early in his high school career, that stage says as much about the trajectory as the ranking does.

What separates Branham from a routine commit is the shape of his profile. Indiana has usually been at its best with guards who can handle the ball, score without needing a play called every trip, and defend in space. Branham fits that modern lane better than the smaller, pass-first lead guards that once defined so many high school backcourts. He looks more like the bigger, multi-use perimeter players who can anchor a class and survive against older, stronger competition before they ever get to campus.

A No. 28 national ranking and a top-five spot at his position suggest Branham is gaining real traction beyond the Indiana commitment line, and the La Lumiere connection only adds to the visibility.
