Goffs Opens 2026 February Sale with 416 Lots and Inaugural Point-to-Point
Goffs launched its 2026 February Sale at Kildare Paddocks with a 416‑lot catalogue, strong international interest and a newly introduced point‑to‑point section that broadens market options.

A 416‑lot catalogue opened the 2026 Goffs February Sale at Kildare Paddocks, setting the tone for a busy two days of buying and selling that combined Flat and National Hunt prospects with breeding stock and an inaugural point‑to‑point section. The opening session featured 266 weanlings/short yearlings, up from 248 last year, and the sale drew reported interest from Moyglare Stud and other prominent European operations.
The Wednesday session began at 10:00 a.m. and focused on young stock and pinhook prospects, with short yearlings by Ace Impact, Baaeed, Galiway, Ghaiyyath, Good Guess, Harzand, Havana Grey, Mehmas, Minzaal, Native Trail, New Bay, Persian Force, Sands of Mali, Shaquille, Sioux Nation, Starman and others listed in the catalogue. National Hunt buyers could point to the presence of leading jumps sires such as Crystal Ocean, Doctor Dino, Jukebox Jury, Kapgarde, Nirvana Du Berlais, No Risk At All and Walk In The Park, the latter represented by Lot 136, a yearling colt out of Shewearsitwell, herself a multiple Grade 3 winner and Champion Hurdle‑placed.
Notable lots give a flavor of the catalogue’s depth. Lot 53 is a brother to Grade 2 mares’ hurdle winner Feet Of A Dancer. Lot 96 is a Nirvana Du Berlais colt related to Grade 1 winner Petit Mouchoir, while Lot 104 is a Siyouni colt out of a full‑sister to Prix du Muguet winner and sire Plumatic. Flat pedigrees of interest include Lot 213, a Shaquille half‑brother to dual Group 3 winner New Providence, and Lot 261, an Ace Impact filly out of a German Listed winner. Mares and breeding stock to be offered on day two include La Sensazione (Lot 309), Singsong Lady (Lot 366), Shamalza (Lot 364) consigned by Aga Khan Studs and Lot 398 Empress Of Hope, the five‑year‑old believed in foal to Shaquille and a full‑sister to Brownstown Stakes heroine Valeria Messalina.
Goffs group chief executive Henry Beeby framed the catalogue as a strategic response to autumn trade. “We can't wait to get going for the year,” he said, adding, “Our February Sale is always a reactionary catalogue to the autumn sales and it is a very good and balanced catalogue. The Wednesday session is up from 248 to 266 weanlings and there is obviously more Flat than National Hunt. There are some very smart pedigrees in there and the pinhookers will be out in force. You see a lot of the serious buyers have been here on Monday and Tuesday and we have some good drafts from Moyglare Stud and more. We finish off with a newly‑introduced point‑to‑point section and that is a definite reaction to requests given a number of point‑to‑point handlers were asking for a sale in Ireland at this time of the year.” Goffs also announced in a press release that the February point‑to‑point sale was added “following significant vendor requests” and joins its existing point‑to‑point portfolio including Punchestown, Aintree, Doncaster Spring and Newbury.

Market watchers will be watching how the sale performs against broader February benchmarks; Tattersalls’ recent February turnover of 3,650,000 guineas at an average of 17,838 guineas was cited as context, though Goffs fields fewer lots. The atmosphere before selling was lighthearted and expectant, “Pinhookers resembled happy cows being let out to spring grass for the first time on the eve of the two‑day February Sale,” observers noted.
For buyers and breeders, the sale represents both immediate buying opportunities and a bellwether for the spring sales cycle. The full online catalogue is available now with a print catalogue to follow, and the new point‑to‑point section will be catalogued separately and offered immediately after the breeding stock session on day two. Results and prices will clarify how appetite for Flat, National Hunt and point‑to‑point stock translates into the early 2026 market.
