Inglis Digital USA Launches Inaugural Curlin Florida Derby Online Sale
Inglis Digital USA opened bidding on a boutique Florida Derby-themed online sale March 18, giving buyers a shot at owning horses running at Gulfstream Park on March 28.

Inglis Digital USA and 1/ST launched the inaugural Curlin Florida Derby Sale on Wednesday, opening an online auction specifically built around Gulfstream Park's marquee Florida Derby card and the South Florida racing ecosystem. Bidding runs through Monday, March 23, with the first lot scheduled to close that afternoon and subsequent lots hammering in three-minute increments. Prospective buyers can register and request a bidding limit at inglisdigitalusa.com.
The sale's most distinctive feature is its timeline: with the Grade 1 Florida Derby set for Saturday, March 28, Gulfstream Park has agreed to process all ownership changes for horses entered on that day's card before the races run. The catch is structural rather than burdensome: a new owner must keep the horse with the trainer who originally entered it for that race, though they are free to redirect the horse wherever they choose afterward. Any buyer acquiring a horse entered in an upcoming race must also hold or obtain a valid Florida Racing License before race day.
"This boutique sale offers quality with every horse," said Inglis Digital USA CEO Kyle Wilson. "You have the potential opportunity to be an owner on GI Florida Derby day. How special is that?"
Among the named entries, Lightning Tones, a Tonalist gelding trained and owned by Jose Castro, is being pointed toward the Grade 3 Ghostzapper Stakes on the Florida Derby undercard. A two-time winner of the Sunshine Classic Stakes, Lightning Tones is consigned by Paramount Sales and available for inspection at Castro's barn at Palm Meadows Training Center. Also in the catalog is a 49% stake in Ababajoni, a Neolithic colt who went gate-to-wire to win a Gulfstream Park turf allowance on March 6. Owner-trainer Rohan Crichton is offering the partial interest ahead of Ababajoni's planned start in the Cutler Bay Stakes on the Florida Derby undercard. Crichton is making the horse available for inspection at his Gulfstream Park barn.
The percentage-sale structure reflects a deliberate design choice: sellers who want liquidity without fully exiting a horse they believe in can offer a partial stake and retain the rest. That flexibility applies specifically to connections with horses already entered on Florida Derby day.

The Curlin Florida Derby Sale is the first collaboration between Inglis Digital USA and 1/ST, with cross-promotional support built into the Gulfstream race calendar. Inglis Digital USA served as presenting sponsor of the Davona Dale Stakes (G2) on February 28 at Gulfstream and was featured in the track's race program, simulcast feed, and on-property signage.
The platform enters this sale with momentum from its March sale earlier this month, which moved 20 lots to 18 different buyers drawn from across the globe. That sale's top lot, the Grade 3-placed broodmare prospect Faith Understood, sold for $80,000 to bidder Chris Nolan. Horses that did not meet their reserves in that sale remain available through the "Make An Offer" function on the Inglis Digital USA website.
Rolling entries for the Curlin Florida Derby Sale were accepted on an approval basis through sale day, giving consignors a narrow but real window to get horses into the catalog after the initial March 13 entry deadline.
