With the Angels Wins $135,000 Correction Stakes at Aqueduct by 3½ Lengths
With the Angels, trained by Linda Rice and ridden by Jose Lezcano, drew off to win the $135,000 Correction at Aqueduct by about 3½ lengths in the six-furlong sprint.

With the Angels, a dark bay or brown 4-year-old owned by Winning Move Stable and trained by Linda Rice, produced a decisive score in the $135,000 Correction Stakes at Aqueduct, drawing off to win by roughly 3½ lengths in the six-furlong sprint with Jose Lezcano aboard, a result reported by Paulick Report and relayed by NYRA for a Feb. 25 running. The Correction is a six-furlong stakes for older fillies and mares carrying a $135,000 purse.
Conflicting scheduling information appears in the entries: Equibase’s nominations page lists the Correction as six furlongs to be run Sunday, March 1, 2026 and shows the race closed Saturday, February 14, 2026 with 14 nominations. The differing dates between the Paulick/NYRA-relayed result (Feb. 25) and Equibase’s March 1 scheduling will be resolved through the official chart and race office confirmation for exact post date, final time and official margin.

Equibase’s nomination listing identifies With the Angels as dk b./f.4 trained by Linda Rice and owned by Winning Move Stable. Her form includes a dominant juvenile campaign, TDN noted an 11 1/2-length debut and a perfect four-for-four juvenile season with state-bred stakes wins in the Joseph A. Gimma, Maid of the Mist and Key Cents, and a return-from-layoff allowance score in October by 2 1/2 lengths versus open company. NYRA records show With the Angels finished two lengths behind Hold Your Breath in the Garland of Roses on December 7, where the pacesetter split 22.93 and 46.07 en route to a 1:09.76 final time and With the Angels equaled a career-best 89 Beyer Speed Figure.
Linda Rice framed the race on both tactical and campaign terms in pre- and post-race comments: Horseracingnation quoted Rice saying, “I was really happy with the way it went today. I think she got the trip she likes. There were two speed in front of her and they were going plenty fast. She was close enough to be able to get to them, but I think that's the exact trip that she likes – sit behind the speed, stalk and close. She finishes up real well that way. We're going to go on to the Correction.” NYRA also reported Rice’s campaign objective: “She’s doing well and I think this will be a good steppingstone for her. I would like to go from here to the Grade 3 Distaff and get some graded type behind her name.”
Jose Lezcano’s race-riding comments appear in Horseracingnation in the context of a card where he and Rice teamed for multiple winners; Lezcano said, “She showed a little bit more speed today... There were two horses who went to the lead. I was able to sit behind, where she got comfortable. When I asked her, she goes on and wins the race,” adding praise for Rice’s barn and the filly’s quality. Horseracingnation reported Lezcano’s win on With the Angels gave him multiple winners on that card.
The Correction nominations list on Equibase included familiar names that shape the stakes picture: Hold Your Breath (Main Line Racing Stables / John C. Servis), Lucille Ball (Wachtel Stable / Chris J. Englehart), Mega Mil, On Command, Roswell, Sunday Girl and others. DRF preview notes placed Always Angels and Atarah with Linda Rice as well, Always Angels was claimed by Rice for $40,000 on Nov. 22 and won a $50,000 claimer by 8 1/2 lengths on Jan. 9; Atarah was claimed for $50,000 Sept. 13 and has won both starts at Aqueduct, with DRF assigning Sahin Civaci to Always Angels and Flavien Prat to Atarah in preview content.
Rice’s recent stable form is relevant to the stakes landscape: Thoroughbreddailynews reported Rice notched her fourth consecutive Aqueduct fall meet training title with 31 wins and captured her 165th NYRA-circuit training victory in 2025 when Snide won by 4 3/4 lengths. Flavien Prat’s fall-meet leading rider stats, 136 starts, 46 wins, 21 seconds, 15 thirds and $3,247,016 in earnings, underscore the competitive New York circuit on which With the Angels campaigns.
Equibase’s published conditions for the Correction spell out nomination and fee structure, $135 subscription, $675 to pass the entry box, $675 to start, with a $675 supplemental for late entries, weight at 123 lbs with allowances, and Lasix governed under HISA Rule 4212 (no Lasix within 48 hours of post). The official chart will provide the finalized fractions, final time and any charted Beyer or Equibase speed figures for this running; Rice’s stated plan remains to use the Correction as a bridge to the Grade 3, $150,000 Distaff at Aqueduct on April 4 as she seeks graded credit for With the Angels.
