Boston parkour calendar adds ADAPT Level 1 instructor course

Parkour Generations Boston listed an ADAPT Level 1 Instructor Course at The Dojo @ Somernova, 15 Properzi Way, Somerville, MA 02143, for July 10-12, 2025. The three-day course mattered because it sat at the entry point of parkour coach development, where instruction becomes standardized instead of improvised.

ADAPT is one of the sport’s best-known certification tracks, and Level 1 is the first formal step for coaches who want to build a safer, more technical teaching base. One Level 1 certification listing says candidates must complete at least 10 supervised coaching sessions to finish the credential, which makes the pathway more than a weekend clinic. It turns coaching into a measured process with practice, oversight and completion standards.

That structure fits what Parkour Generations Boston says it is built to do. Founded in 2012 as a branch of Parkour Generations Americas, the organization is based in Somerville and works with municipalities, community organizations, schools, private companies and individuals across New England. It says its mission is to spread parkour in a safe, positive and responsible manner and to effect positive social change through parkour.

The Boston listing also reflected a broader point about how the sport grows. Parkour’s next wave does not come only through contests or highlight reels. It comes through the people teaching beginners how to land, vault and progress without cutting corners. Parkour Generations Americas describes the ADAPT Network as “a global movement of parkour practitioners” committed to the highest standards of safety, skill and community leadership, and Boston’s place on that map showed the local scene was still feeding coaches into that larger system.

Parkour Generations Boston has also built its own feeder programs. Its Coach-in-Training program is designed to help youth acquire professional skills and coaching experience for the parkour industry, and its semester internship for high school students combines leadership development, parkour technique training and supervised assisting in youth coaching environments. That kind of pipeline expands the number of adults who can teach and the number of settings where parkour can be offered well.

The calendar entry arrived alongside other signs that Boston had become a repeat stop for certification. Parkour Generations Boston’s 2024 calendar also listed an ADAPT Level 1 Instructor Course at the same Somerville venue, and ADAPT’s own 2026 schedule placed Boston on its Level 2 coach assessments and certification calendar. Parkour Generations Boston also said its 2025 inaugural competition season was rewarding for both athletes and coaches, a reminder that the same city was building its competitive and instructional sides at the same time.
