Brad Haverkamp and Caleb Dang set 28-hour Guinness singles pickleball record
Brad Haverkamp and Caleb Dang played 141 singles games over 28 hours at All In Pickleball Gym, setting the Guinness World Record and winning 87 and 54 games respectively.

Guinness World Records now lists the longest marathon playing pickleball (singles) as 28 hours, a mark set by Grand Rapids residents Brad Haverkamp and Caleb Dang at All In Pickleball Gym in Byron Center, Michigan during the Nov. 22-23, 2025 attempt. Guinness accepted the submitted evidence and validated the record in February 2026.
The duo logged 141 games across the 28-hour stretch, with Haverkamp winning 87 games and Dang winning 54, according to event tallies reported by organizers. That 28:00 total eclipses the previous singles marathon of 24 hours and 13 minutes set by Matt Chambers and Alex Bean in Provo, Utah in November 2021, a gap of approximately 3 hours and 47 minutes.
Under Guinness rules competitors are allowed a five-minute break for every hour played, and Haverkamp and Dang used break-banking to manage fatigue. Organizers and local coverage described a three-hours-on, 15-minutes-off cycle throughout the attempt rather than taking five-minute pauses every hour. The strategy and logistics were part of a conscious plan: Brad Haverkamp said, "You plan, you prepare, you make sure you have the food ready, you figure out how you want to use your break time and then you just keep going."
The physical toll was unmistakable. Caleb Dang reflected on the middle stretch of the marathon, saying, "I think at a certain point, your brain just shuts off and you're on autopilot," and added, "I might as well have blacked out for the middle 20 hours." Local reporting emphasized extreme fatigue and the mental challenge of sustaining continuous singles rallies through the second day.

Haverkamp and Dang had tried before to claim a Guinness mark in a doubles attempt in 2024 but that effort fell short, and the pair framed the November 2025 singles attempt as a chance to finish what they had started. The Pickleballer noted the effort also supported Gift of Life Michigan, listing the charity as the cause tied to the marathon; event materials and coverage describe the attempt as driven by friendship, endurance, and fundraising.
All In Pickleball Gym in Byron Center hosted the marathon while Guinness lists the location under Grand Rapids, Michigan for its official registry. With Guinness now recording the 28-hour result, Haverkamp and Dang reset the endurance benchmark for singles pickleball and provided organizers a template, from break-banking to nutrition planning, for future marathon bids.
