Hong Kong’s pickleball boom is no longer confined to courts. It is showing up in corporate gifting budgets, employee wellness plans and client-entertainment spend, with BeGiftHK reporting a 210 percent year-on-year jump in inquiries for customised pickleball equipment in the first quarter of 2026.

BeGiftHK officially released its 2026 Corporate Gift Purchasing Trends Report on May 4, and the message was clear: Hong Kong’s B2B gift market has moved away from a low-price, high-volume model in the post-pandemic era. Instead, specialization, wellness and sports social gifts are driving buying decisions, and pickleball has emerged as one of the clearest beneficiaries.

That matters because it shows the sport has crossed into workplace culture. Companies are not only handing out branded paddles and custom kits, they are using pickleball as a team-building and brand-building tool. BeGiftHK said the appeal is practical as well as symbolic: pickleball is easy to introduce at company events, trial sessions and wellness programs because it works across age groups and skill levels. The Hong Kong, China Tennis Association has made a similar case, describing the sport as inclusive and suitable for everyone from children to seniors.

The gear itself is becoming more polished. BeGiftHK’s professional-grade T700 carbon fibre paddles, paired with bespoke designs, are meant to turn gifting into a social brand experience rather than a simple transaction. The company has also invested in full-colour UV digital printing so logos and artwork can meet the precision standards that multinational firms expect. In a city where corporate identity matters, the paddle has become both sports equipment and a handheld billboard.

The broader significance reaches beyond gifts. Corporate adoption can create a pipeline of first-time players, which in turn feeds court bookings, lessons and league participation. Hong Kong already has the structure to absorb that demand. The Pickleball Association of Hong Kong, China says it is affiliated to the Asia Federation of Pickleball and works on coaching, refereeing, youth development and international competition. The Pickleball Federation of Hong Kong, China also promotes the sport through events and coach training. The Hong Kong Pickleball League Division A Grand Finale was held in Wan Chai on April 7, 2025, a sign that the sport’s competitive side has already taken root.

A 2025 commentary in The Standard noted that pickleball’s rise in Hong Kong was drawing players of all ages and backgrounds. BeGiftHK’s numbers suggest the next phase may be even more revealing: if firms keep spending on branded gear, pickleball will not just be a pastime in Hong Kong’s business hubs. It will be part of the city’s corporate wellness economy, and that could help push mainstream growth across Asia.
