Japan Pickleball Federation Sets Media Rules, Reopens PRO Entries for Tsu Open

The Japan Pickleball Federation posted formal notices on Feb 23 and Feb 24 that lay out media coverage rules, filming procedures and an administrative update reopening entries for selected PRO categories ahead of the APP Japan Skechers Open, which is scheduled to begin Feb 26 in Tsu City, Mie Prefecture. The dual announcements arrive three days before play is due to start at the Skechers-sponsored event.

The Feb 23–24 notices specifically address media operations and filming at the Tsu City site, instructing credentialed outlets and camera operators to follow the procedures set by the federation for the APP Japan Skechers Open. Those procedures and media rules were published by the PJF in the run-up to the tournament and are intended to be in force when first-round matches commence on Feb 26.

In the administrative update portion of the notices, the PJF reopened entries for selected PRO categories for the APP Japan Skechers Open. The federation’s re-opening of PRO entries was announced Feb 23–24, giving players and teams a short window to submit entries before the tournament begins in Mie Prefecture. The notices name the change as a targeted reopen rather than a blanket reopening of all divisions.

Timing was a clear driver for the federation’s communications: the notices were posted on Feb 23–24 and the event is set to start Feb 26 in Tsu City, creating a briefing cadence for organizers, media and late-entering PRO competitors.
