CPSC Recalls 2,380 Trankerloop Baby Bath Seats Over Tipping, Drowning Risk

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled approximately 2,380 Trankerloop Baby Bath Seats on February 26, 2026, after determining the products fail to meet federal safety standards and can tip over in the tub, creating a drowning hazard for infants.

The seats, imported by Shenzhen Shi Ronmang Trading Co., Ltd., doing business as Trankerloop, are identified by model number YD-1958, printed alongside the words "PLASTIC STOOL" on a tracking label affixed to the back. According to the CPSC, the seats came in blue, gray, pink, and yellow, and each unit included two detachable arms serving as a restraint, four suction cups on the bottom designed to grip the tub surface, a cup, and a sponge. The CPSC's hazard statement is direct: "The recalled bath seats violate the mandatory standard for infant bath seats because they are unstable and can tip over while in use, posing a risk of serious injury or death due to drowning."

The seats were sold exclusively on Amazon.com, priced at about $36. No injuries or close calls had been reported at the time of the recall announcement.

Consumers who purchased the product should stop using it immediately. The CPSC lists the remedy as a full refund. The refund process, as reported by KCTV, requires consumers to write "RECALLED" on the front of the seat in permanent marker, disassemble it by removing the backrest and arm pieces, cut off the four suction cups on the bottom, and email a photo of the disassembled seat showing the word "RECALLED" to the same address.

Some secondary outlets, including Fox4 and Fox Business, reported a significantly larger recall of approximately 8,960 to nearly 9,000 units under the brand name "YCXXKJ," with a sale period stretching from May 2024 through October 2025 and a price range of $34 to $40. Those outlets also directed consumers to a company called BenTalk at bentalkhere@outlook.com rather than the Trankerloop contact listed in the CPSC release. These figures and contact details conflict with the CPSC's official recall notice, which names only Trankerloop and lists the manufacturer's direct phone and email.
