CPSC Warns Caregivers to Stop Using LullaBear Choco Bear Infant Cushions Immediately
The CPSC warned caregivers to immediately ditch LullaBear Choco Bear cushions, which can suffocate infants. About 2,700 units were sold online for up to $100.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued an urgent warning on March 19 urging caregivers to stop using LullaBear Choco Bear infant support cushions immediately, citing a serious risk of suffocation. The animal-shaped cushions, manufactured by Zhejiang Fanzhou Technology Co., Ltd. in China, violate the mandatory regulation for infant support cushions because they were marketed and intended for infant sleep and can obstruct an infant's breathing, posing a serious risk of injury or death.
About 2,700 of the cushions were sold online through Livvewell.com between June 2025 and January 2026, priced between $49 and $100. The Choco Bear is one variant in a broader line; the product was also sold in other styles and colors.
The CPSC's warning, issued under Product Safety Warning Number 26-338, is unambiguous: "Do not sell or give away these hazardous products." Caregivers who purchased any version of the LullaBear infant support cushion are instructed to dispose of the product entirely, not simply retire it to storage.

There is a secondary hazard to address. The cushions include a remote control powered by a button cell or coin battery, and the CPSC noted that button cell and coin batteries are hazardous on their own. The battery from the remote should be disposed of or recycled following local hazardous waste procedures, not tossed in the household trash.
Anyone who experienced an incident involving injury or a product defect connected to the LullaBear cushion should file a report with the CPSC directly at SaferProducts.gov. The commission has not published any confirmed injury reports tied to this specific product in its warning, but the regulatory violation and suffocation risk alone prompted the immediate consumer advisory.
