Florida Man Throws Frozen Drink at McDonald's Worker, Gets Arrested

A customer sitting in a McDonald's drive-thru in Seminole, Florida, allegedly hurled a frozen coffee drink at an employee's face around 1 a.m., shattering the cup on impact and drenching the worker in the beverage, according to a Pinellas County Sheriff's Office arrest affidavit.

Daniel D. Abramowitz, 29, was charged with felony battery following the incident at the McDonald's location at 8901 Park Blvd. Investigators said Abramowitz was seated in his vehicle in the drive-thru lane when he engaged in what officials described as a "brief discussion" with the employee before allegedly throwing the frozen frappe.

The drink struck 28-year-old Stephen Lavadinho in the face. The cup broke open on impact, and the beverage spilled across Lavadinho's face, hair, and jacket. Lavadinho, who was wearing his McDonald's uniform at the time, dialed 911 after the attack. Authorities said the entire incident was captured on surveillance video.

Abramowitz is no stranger to law enforcement. According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, he has a prior domestic battery conviction for punching his girlfriend, the mother of his child, in the face. Arrest records describe him as a white male standing about 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

The felony battery charge reflects Florida law's elevation of battery to a felony when a victim sustains significant contact resulting from a deliberate act. No bond amount, court date, or information on whether Abramowitz remained in custody had been made public as of this report. McDonald's corporate and the local franchisee had not issued a statement on the incident.
