Masked gangs attacked at least three Indian-owned businesses in Wembley over the space of a week, smashing furniture, destroying stock and injuring several people in incidents that locals describe as coordinated and recurring.

Manek Chowk, an Indian restaurant on Ealing Road, bore the worst of it. The establishment was hit on March 5 and again on March 7. Videos circulating online show groups of men wearing masks and long robes entering the restaurant and overturning tables and chairs, breaking tills and lights, and scattering crockery and food across the floor. A man who tried to intervene was struck with a bottle.

On March 6, a separate video recorded at Panesar Food and Wine on Harrow Road showed masked men in thobes and face coverings pulling boxes of fruit and vegetables from shelves, throwing them to the ground and stomping on them.

A local store owner of Indian origin, quoted by the Times of India, described how the violence began: "It started in Traders Wembley last Wednesday. Three men from Daman and Diu were beaten up in the toilets and left bleeding. It was a Somalian gang of young boys."

The same witness described what followed at Manek Chowk: "Next, they targeted Manek Chowk. It was a gang of 15 to 20. They came from the mosque area and attacked the restaurant, and 10 or 12 youths got off the bus and joined them and started smashing the restaurant. They didn't speak with anyone. They just started throwing tables and chairs. They attacked the tills and broke the lights. An Indian man who tried to intervene was hit with a bottle. It keeps happening after 8pm and is totally unprovoked."

Separately, a man of Gujarati origin was stabbed on Ealing Road on Monday night and taken to a hospital emergency department, according to the Financial Express. No further details on his condition were available in reports at the time of publication.

The identification of the attackers as Somali or Somalian comes from local witnesses and Times of India reporting. No Metropolitan Police statement confirming the ethnicity or identity of any suspects appears in available accounts, and no arrests have been publicly confirmed. Witnesses vary in their descriptions, with terms ranging from "a Somalian gang of young boys" to "gangs of suspected Somali men."

Multiple locals told reporters the attacks appear organised and are targeting specific businesses, with incidents consistently occurring after 8pm over several consecutive nights.

The Wembley incidents follow a separate clash during Holi celebrations in nearby Harrow the previous week. That disruption was raised in Parliament by MP Bob Blackman. Brent Council condemned the Wembley attacks and called for strict action, though no direct statement from the council had been published in the reports reviewed.

Metropolitan Police confirmation of any investigation, arrests or official suspect descriptions remains outstanding.
