Love Island USA Alum Yulissa Escobar Assaulted Outside Miami Beach Taco Bell

Yulissa Escobar, a former contestant on Love Island USA Season 7, was struck outside a Taco Bell in Miami Beach early Monday morning after a night out at LIV nightclub, leaving her hospitalized with a concussion. The Miami Beach Police Department took a report and confirmed they are actively investigating the incident. No arrests had been made as of the time of initial reporting.

According to the police report, Escobar and a friend stopped at Taco Bell after attending a Sunday night performance at LIV nightclub in Miami Beach. While she waited for her order, a man approached and began making "inappropriate remarks toward her." Escobar told police she ignored him. A woman who appeared to be with the man then became agitated and struck Escobar on her right cheek. The force of the blow caused visible injury. The pair fled the scene immediately afterward in a white Mercedes.

Escobar was taken to a hospital, where doctors diagnosed her with a concussion. She has since been released and is recovering at home. She told TMZ she is stepping away from social media while she heals, and she has set her Instagram account to private. TMZ reported that the incident has left her "walking in fear" and concerned for her safety.

Escobar speculates the assault may be connected to the online backlash she received following her appearance on Love Island USA Season 7, though authorities have not linked the assault to her television appearance or online criticism. Her time on the show was brief: producers pulled her before the second episode aired after videos resurfaced showing her using the N-word. She issued a public apology at the time, saying the language was used out of ignorance.
