Below Deck Med Star Aesha Scott Weds Scotty Dobson in New Zealand Ceremony
Aesha Scott married Scotty Dobson in Tauranga, New Zealand on March 7, with one unanswered question: will he really become "Scott Scott"?

The internet had one question after Below Deck Mediterranean chief stew Aesha Scott posted her wedding announcement to Instagram Stories on March 9: had Scott "Scotty" Dobson actually gone through with it and taken her last name, making himself Scott Scott?
That particular cliffhanger aside, the facts of the ceremony are beautifully straightforward. Aesha, 34, married Dobson on Saturday, March 7, in their hometown of Tauranga, New Zealand, at a scenic local venue surrounded by friends and family who had traveled from around the world to be there. The couple had initially considered a beach destination elsewhere in New Zealand, but chose Tauranga so that international guests, many of whom had never visited New Zealand or met Aesha's family before, could experience the place that shaped both of their lives.
"What an incredible few days!!!! We are married eeeee!!!!!! We are soooo filled with love and joy, we can't believe how lucky we are to have the people in our life that we do. Our weekend was absolutely perfect," Aesha wrote in her Instagram Stories post.
Rather than immediately departing for a traditional honeymoon, the couple opted for a mini-moon to Queenstown. "We're off on a mini honeymoon to Queenstown as we have so many overseas guests in NZ we didn't want to fly too far away," she explained, adding that formal wedding photos would follow the following week after a period of rest.
The road to the altar stretched back decades. Aesha and Dobson first met in high school in New Zealand but did not begin dating until nearly ten years later, when Dobson reached out through Instagram. After months of messaging, Aesha flew from New Zealand to the United States to meet him in person, a trip that solidified their relationship. They made things public in 2020, documenting travels across the globe before Dobson proposed at Homunga Bay in May 2024. "Homunga Bay was my dream place to get engaged, but I had no idea it was coming and was totally surprised," Aesha told Us Weekly at the time.

The engagement ring Dobson presented at that beach proposal was a considered piece of design. He worked with jewelry designer Layla Kaisi on a round-cut diamond set on an 18K gold band, flanked by multiple baguettes, each intended to represent a member of Aesha's family.
As for the name question, Aesha raised it herself on the Two Ts in a Pod podcast in June 2024. "We've always said that when we get married, he's gonna take my last name, so he becomes Scott Scott," she said. "Who else gets that opportunity?" Whether Dobson has formally made that change since the March 7 ceremony remains unconfirmed.
Beyond married life, Aesha is also preparing to launch DROP, her alcoholic coconut water brand, in California this summer, with plans to expand across additional U.S. markets. For a chief stew accustomed to managing the logistics of superyacht charters in the Mediterranean, launching a beverage brand while honeymooning in Queenstown is, perhaps, a perfectly on-brand next chapter.
