Carolina Herrera’s Spring 2026 collection leaned into Madrid, with floral motifs and embroidery carrying the collection’s rhythm and warmth through Wes Gordon’s tailored lens. Selena Gomez took that idea and stripped it down to something immediately usable for brides: a crystal-embroidered midi dress that delivered all the sparkle, leaving little need for necklaces, earrings or a stacked wrist.

Gomez wore the look to the Los Angeles premiere of Marty, Life Is Short on Wednesday, May 6, at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, stepping out in a Carolina Herrera dress from the brand’s Spring 2026 lineup. The styling was pointedly restrained. The beadwork did the shine for her, turning the midi length into a polished alternative to the full-length, heavily accessorized red-carpet formula. For brides, that is the lesson: when the dress is already embroidered and luminous, the styling can stay clean, modern and almost spare.

That makes this a particularly useful reference point for reception dressing, courthouse ceremonies and rehearsal dinners, where a bride or guest may want impact without the weight of a train or the fuss of ornate jewelry. A crystal-dusted midi can read formal enough for a celebration yet controlled enough to avoid looking overworked. The silhouette matters too. A midi hem keeps the look fresh and unfussy, while the embroidery gives it the kind of texture that photographs beautifully under evening light and in candid flash shots.

Gomez attended with Benny Blanco and posed solo on the red carpet as the focus stayed on Martin Short, her Only Murders in the Building co-star, who was being honored on a night described as an emotional celebration of his more than five-decade career. Kate Hudson, Eugene Levy, Billy Crystal and Andrea Martin were among the friends and family in attendance. Marty, Life Is Short premiered on Netflix on May 12, but Gomez’s dress gave the earlier premiere its most bridal-minded image: a gown, or near-gown, that replaces extra sparkle with embroidery and lets the fabric do the talking.
