Another Tomorrow and 91.530 Le Marais launch regenerative hemp dresses

An intimate lunch at 91.530 Le Marais in Le Val-Saint-Germain set the tone for Another Tomorrow’s newest capsule: three summer dresses cut from Blanc de Blanc hemp from the farm’s 2022 harvest. Editors, creatives, and cultural leaders gathered on the site less than 50 km from Paris, where chef Angel Fernández Bayo served a seasonal lunch and Arizona Muse was among the guests.

There is a Caftan for $1,090, a Gathered Back Dress for $990, and a Flare Sun Dress for $790, all available online at Another Tomorrow and at the brand’s SoHo flagship at 135 Wooster Street. The collection uses hemp with a natural texture that reads more elegant than crunchy, more lived-in than precious.

The hemp fiber was spun near Bergamo, Italy, woven in Saint-Germain, France, and finished in Cremona and Nuvolento, Italy. Under creative director Elizabeth Giardina, who joined Another Tomorrow in 2022 after stints at Proenza Schouler and Derek Lam, the silhouettes are cut in disciplined shapes.

Giardina said seeing the hemp crop become fabric was a reminder that fashion is fundamentally an agricultural product, and that garments should be connected back to the soil. Another Tomorrow has used hemp before, including hemp-viscose in its Convertible Trench, and the B-Corp-certified label, founded in 2020 by Vanessa Barboni Hallik, has used farm-traceable regenerative wool, organic cotton, regenerative cotton, European linen, FSC viscose, Tencel lyocell, recycled cashmere, peace silk, and recycled nylon. 91.530 Le Marais, founded in 2020 by Victoire de Pourtalès and Benjamin Eymère, works in hemp and bamboo to improve soil health and increase carbon sequestration.
