POTR’s DISSECTION bags add cargo pockets for work-ready utility
POTR’s new DISSECTION line turns pockets into a filing system, adding cargo compartments and a mesh panel for shirts or bottles. The five-piece range goes straight at daily carry.

POTR has taken the cargo-bag idea to its logical limit, and then pushed a little further. The new DISSECTION line does not just add storage; it tries to sort a commuter’s day into separate compartments, with exterior pockets that give belongings an “address” so you do not have to dig through the main body every time you want a charger, notebook, bottle or spare layer.
The five-style lineup, released on Friday, May 1, 2026 after a product announcement on April 28, includes a waist bag, tactical bag, shoulder bag, tote bag and backpack. Yoshida & Co. priced the range in Japan at ¥41,800 for the waist bag, ¥46,200 for the tactical bag, ¥64,900 for the shoulder bag, ¥82,500 for the tote bag and ¥85,800 for the backpack. That puts the collection squarely in the territory of serious everyday-carry gear, not novelty accessory territory, especially once you factor in the technical fabric and the added construction that goes into all those pockets.
The strongest cases are the backpack and tote, which carry an extra front panel packed with cargo pockets and a middle zip that opens to a mesh pocket for shirts or bottles. It is a smart move for people who actually haul things through the day, laptops in one compartment, gym gear in another, rain layers shoved somewhere accessible before the train doors close. The design makes a clear argument: utility is not just about volume, it is about speed, order and how little friction a bag adds to routine.
That approach fits POTR’s larger identity. Yoshida & Co. positions the line as one that connects people and daily life, and DISSECTION extends a roster that has already included PACKS, MONOGRAM, RIDE and SCOPE. SCOPE, in particular, was built as a business-bag series for diversified work styles, including remote work and workation, while the brand has also described the wider collection as fitting changing lifestyles. In other words, POTR has been building toward this kind of bag for a while.
The materials reinforce the workwear angle. The main fabric is TC ripstop, a polyester-cotton blend, with a nylon ox lining. The waist bag, which sits close to the body, weighs 336 grams and holds 1 liter, a useful size for the bare essentials without tipping into overbuilt territory. Released during Yoshida & Co.’s 90th anniversary period, DISSECTION shows how far the brand can modernize its heritage bagmaking before function stops feeling efficient and starts feeling excessive. Here, it still lands on the useful side of that line.
