The Sri Lanka Bonsai Association is bringing its annual exhibition, "Reflections 2026 – Living Images," to the All Ceylon Buddhist Congress Hall on Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 7, on March 13 and 14. The show features meticulously trained miniature trees created by SLBA members, curated as a display for both seasoned practitioners and those encountering bonsai for the first time.

Founded in 1989, the SLBA has spent more than three decades playing a pioneering role in promoting and developing bonsai in Sri Lanka, encouraging knowledge-sharing, training, and appreciation of bonsai as a living art. The association has organized exhibitions almost every year during that span, steadily building public interest and nurturing local talent across the country.

Live demonstrations are scheduled for March 14 at 3 p.m. and March 15 at 11 a.m., giving attendees the chance to observe styling and training techniques up close, ask questions, and gain practical insight into the ancient art form. Visitors will also be able to purchase bonsai pots and related materials on-site, making the event a practical starting point for anyone looking to begin or expand their own practice.

The exhibition frames bonsai not simply as horticulture but as expressive, living works of art, and the SLBA describes it as offering a welcome pause for quiet reflection, inviting visitors to experience peace, balance, and tranquility through the timeless beauty of bonsai. For a community that understands how years of patient wiring, pruning, and repotting culminate in a single refined form, that framing will resonate.

The All Ceylon Buddhist Congress Hall sits on Bauddhaloka Mawatha in the heart of Colombo 7, and the exhibition opens this Friday.
